Main Purpose of the Job

The reporter must be able to source, investigate and report. The journalist should have an existing and extensive contact network. The suitable candidate will have the ability to get the story behind the story and gather unique information that is not available elsewhere. The journalist should have a good understanding of digital journalism, be able to record video and take photos. The suitable candidate will be able to work quickly and under pressure.  The successful candidate must also be willing to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and public holidays from time to time.

Skills and Competencies

• The ability to work comfortably in a digital, multi-platform environment, with skills in social media, photography and videography.
• Excellent Afrikaans language and writing skills.
• Strong news sense.

Qualifications and Experience

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• A valid driver's licence.
• At least 3 years’ experience as a reporter.

About the role:

We want an experienced, client centric salesperson with existing contacts and industry knowledge who can help us grow our new clients. You will be the frontline ambassador of our company, responsible for driving sales growth and acquiring new eCommerce clients. Your focus will be on building strong relationships, understanding customer needs, and offering tailored logistics solutions to meet the demands of online businesses.

Your ability to work independently to drive sales growth and build client relationships will set you apart. Additionally, your knowledge of the eCommerce and marketing environment will make your transition into the role seamless.

The role is new and, in its beginning, stages the day-to-day will entail:

Sales performance

• Meeting targets by building strong relationships with clients by understanding their logistics requirements and providing timely and relevant solutions.
• Engage in consultative selling, actively listening to clients' needs and presenting appropriate logistics services that align with their business goals.
• Reporting on sales activity with clear pipeline movements to reach individual targets.

Product knowledge

• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring excellent customer service throughout the sales process.
• Acquire a deep understanding of our eCommerce logistics offerings, pricing, and service capabilities, that includes eCommerce fulfilment, warehousing, and Last Mile Solutions.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to effectively communicate the value of our services to clients.

Client relationships

• Forming new relationships with relevant clientele and building your own pipeline.

Collaboration

• Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure smooth service delivery and exceed customer expectations.
• Work closely with the marketing team to support promotional activities, campaigns, and lead generation efforts specific to eCommerce logistics.

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in HR or industrial psychology.
• 5+ years relevant experience.

Beneficial skills:

• Solid knowledge of HR best practices.
• Strong process-driven approach, with the flexibility to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
• Ability to conduct data and trend analysis.
• Result orientation with strong customer focus.
• Experience in managing the legal aspects of contracts would be an advantage.
• Solid understanding of general business and commercial principles and trends

Key responsibilities:

• Manage and communicate HR activities in a creative, pro-active and effective manner;
• Implement HR strategies to ensure business goals are achieved;
• Review processes and practices to ensure the HR service is effective and efficient;
• Implement and manage performance, disciplinary, succession, recruitment and renumeration activities;
• Design and implement the learning and development strategy in the business unit;
• Facilitate employee relations issues in the business unit, including engagement efforts;
• Promote and ensure compliance with employment equity in the business unit;
• Execute all administrative and contractual requirements in a speedy and effective manner (including contracts for suppliers and freelancers);
• Engage and negotiate with suppliers and freelancers to ensure effective and engaging partnerships are established;
• Support team on relevant projects as required;
• Manage legalities and compliance issues;
• Implement and support career and personal development initiatives;
• Provide accurate and timeous HR information and reports as required.
