    Manufacturing Excellence Manager

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

    • The Manufacturing Excellence Manager is responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across a number of factories, by overseeing the implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and coordinating the WCM activities. Builds a regional/cluster WCM master plan, providing WCM coaching, developing and managing WCM skill, and delivering WCM training in Manufacturing and potential within the Supply Chain.
    • Have a direct impact on Manufacturing performance which includes but is not limited to Productivity, Reliability, Cost Improvement, Safety and Quality. Interact directly with Sourcing Unit Directors and their teams, functional experts within the business and external consultants and agencies to align on business objectives and deliver projects/ initiatives.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • Develop and drive WCM programme deployment, including external audits and Awards Management
    • Co-ordinate the self-assessment in preparation for external audits
    • Establish a common approach for implementing WCM in the factories, providing coaching, supporting training activities and providing effective knowledge and best practices transfer across the sites
    • Maximize WCM similarities and synergies within the plants, developing action plans for
    • Provide direct support for the implementation of site improvement plans
    • Research and exploit new continuous improvement tools available in the market, including a strategy for digital manufacturing as an enabler

    KEY REQUIREMENTS:

    • University degree preferred – Engineering 
    • WCM/ TPM /Lean Philosophy training
    • Proficient WCM/ TPM/ Lean background is required
    • 5-year experience in manufacturing
    • Relevant functional / technical expertise

    Plant Manager

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

    • Management for all production and internal logistics operations in the site. Deliver production commitments within the quality specifications and costs standards. Maintain a clean and safe working environment and drive continuous improvement in production and internal logistics based on the company’s manufacturing excellence guidelines and TPM methodology.
    • Oversees the operation of the plant, this includes setting department objectives consistent with company’s strategy into action and following through to their successful achievement and completion. Reviews production progress daily and coordinates resolution of daily issues. Review Production performance KPIs with production and internal logistics team through weekly Kaizen meetings. Maintain a safe working environment in the raw and packaging warehousing operation, while assuring a robust operation with accurate inventory records applying company agreed stock control methodologies.
    • Alongside the Supply planning Manager lead the long-term master resource planning in support of future growth plans for site brands. Work closely with Site Engineer to ensure sufficient capacities in the factory to fulfil factory commitments. Review volume performance and production prioritization on weekly basis with the supply planning team. In close liaison with the Site Quality Manager, ensure products comply with quality standards and specifications. Work closely with the Maintenance Manager and ensure there’s a robust maintenance system with excellent machine conditions that work reliably and efficiently.
    • Constantly stay ahead of all projects in order to meet introduction timings of (re-)launched products and innovations and implementation.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • Manage all conversion operations from goods receipt, material storage and internal logistics, through processing and packing to hand
    • Define the key capacity parameters and identify constraints for short- and long-term production planning
    • Achieve annual committed manufacturing excellence savings
    • Achieve OP targets for Volume, OEE, OR, and cost
    • Ensure that the required and Quality and necessary Safety, Health and environmental systems are in place
    • Prepare and monitor the factory operating plan and budget and control the manufacturing conversion costs and internal logistics (labour, wastage and rework) against budget
    • Coordinate and drive activities of Production leading to continuous improvement of performance, output and reliability; aiming for world-class operations (cost-reduction optimized use of assets and resources and lower wastage)
    • Coordinate the availability of resources and inputs from other departments and 3rd parties
    • Design, implement and monitor procedures, systems and work-instructions to ensure the safe handling of all chemicals, safety of processes and the health and safety of all people on site. Develop and implement appropriate safety training programs
    • Assess personal capabilities of staff and develop/implement training programs to enhance the skills of all employees in production and internal logistics
    • Maintain excellent quality standards and ensuring safe working practices through compliance with the guidelines set up in Company Quality, Health & Safety, Environment, Customer Service and Consumer Safety

    KEY REQUIREMENTS:

    • University degree preferred – Engineering 
    • APICS CPIM or CSCP certified will be an advantage
    • 3-5 years proficient FMCG Supply Chain Operations/ Manufacturing Excellence experience
    • SAP ERP experience
    • WCM/ TPM /Lean experience
    • Cross functional business process knowledge
    • People management / team-building capability

    Finance Business Partner: Food Solutions

    MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

     Overview:

    • Drive conversations with the business on performance (focusing on the future)
    • Be responsible to manage the entire UFS P&L for South Africa
    • Develop plans and actions with the business to achieve strategy
    • Use insights to impact business decisions
    • Allocate resources to high value interventions

    JOB SUMMARY

    • Be accountable to manage UFS P&L and deliver USG and UOM targets together with business MD
    • Identify value opportunities that require a particular intervention / project support from Finance Business Partner resources
    • Review projects in process and upcoming challenges
    • Drive better decision making around resource allocation and budget setting
    • Undertake major performance interventions if needed
    • Support the FET to influence at the key decision gates of innovation business cases
    • Drive pre and post-launch interventions
    • Review impacts of performance interventions
    • Identify major risks and opportunities
    • Develop corrective actions to close gaps to targets
    • Make decisions around significant adjustments to carry into the financial forecast

    KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Finance Business Partnering and Category / Customer experience
    • Experience with the identification of risks and opportunities in the P&L
    • Experience in driving P&L performance improvements (e.g. closing gaps vs. target) and holding others accountable (particularly peers and senior leadership)
    • Experience managing a large and complex set of stakeholders
    • Experience in presenting to and communicating with senior Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
    • Demonstrated competency at growing and developing people / teams
    • Supply chain finance experience can be an added advantage (not required)
