    Data and Insights Analyst

    The role in more detail 

    • The majority of the work in this role is analytical and data orientated, but will also require strong relationship building skills and some stakeholder management. 

    You will be (non-exhaustive list):

    • Working with stakeholder teams to understand reporting and analytics requirements, to identify areas of improvement and implement efficiencies in reporting and insights;
    • Working with the Tech Central Data Intelligence team to drive efficiencies and improve current offering;
    • Undertaking project based development and delivery of analytical solutions using a range of data transformation/analytic tools in response to stakeholder requirements and feedback, whilst aiming for best practices;
    • Working across the whole Data & Insights team (including governance and data lifecycle) to ensure teams, and current and new solutions are aligned and compliant with regulations;
    • Identifying ways to streamline efforts and processes across different functions;
    • Supporting the consolidation of reporting, insights and dashboards across a variety of stakeholder groups;
    • Supporting the data transformation agenda forward utilising technology and analytical thinking to increase efficiencies;
    • Applying an agile mindset, demonstrating flexibility to quickly shift priorities of focus to support the extended Data & Insights team;
    • Demonstrating clear project planning and time management to ensure work is prioritised and agreed deadlines met.
    • Proactively collaborating with others to support cross team initiatives
    • Supporting the production of ad-hoc reporting.

    As an ideal candidate, you will have:

    • Previous analytical experience in a professional environment;
    • Previous knowledge of data transformation and visualisation tools and programming languages (e.g. Alteryx, PowerBI, SQL, Python, Databricks);
    • Previous experience implementing solutions to simplify processes and create efficiencies using technology;
    • Strong problem solving and analytical skills;
    • The ability to work within a team and establish strong working relationships with other teams;
    • The ability to work effectively in the face of pressure and not compromise professional standards;
    • Strong communication skills – particularly the ability to troubleshoot complex problems;
    • A customer-focused mindset;
    • Passion for change and innovation; and
    • Passion for technology and taking personal responsibility to stay on top of new developments. 

     Desirable

    • Knowledge of GDPR and Compliance regulations;
    • Data science expertise, including Python and machine learning;
    • Strong ability to work in a hybrid environment.

    Qualifications / Certifications required:

    • Accounting graduates who successfully completed an NQF Level 8 Qualification (BCom Honours Degree) majoring in any of the below:
    • Management Accounting: e.g. BCom Honours Degree
    • Financial Accounting: e.g. BCom / Accounting Honours Degree
    • Tax Accounting: e.g. BCom Honours Degree

    Experience required: 

    • Newly graduated students will be considered.

    Responsibilities of role:

    • Collecting and analysing remuneration data for PwC’s internal remuneration database;
    • Performing executive and non-executive director benchmarking and assistance in determining an appropriate comparator group;
    • Conducting critical reviews of client’s remuneration practices, and drafting papers including review outcomes and recommendations for new structures to clients (both executive management and remuneration committees);
    • Drafting of market practice papers on various elements of remuneration
    • Performing indicative financial modelling for variable incentive schemes to assist clients in understanding the cost versus benefit implications thereof;
    • Performing various wage gap analysis to assist clients with their fair pay analysis
    • Assistance with the so-called single figure remuneration reporting;
    • An awareness of topical issues surrounding executive reward, both globally and locally, and the preparation of communication material to remuneration committees regarding this information, as well as providing ongoing advice;
    • Managing client relationships (under the supervision of more senior staff);
    • Project managing client engagements;
    • Responsibility for risk management procedures and managing costs/fees;
    • Attending client meetings;
    • Assisting with the preparation of client publications;

    Workivia Implementation Specialist

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the client engagement team in the UK to implement and configure the Workiva financial reporting modules which includes, annual financial reporting, statutory reporting and management reporting modules.
    • Set up and configure Workiva documents and spreadsheets.
    • Identify and link data points throughout the Workiva platform to ensure seamless data flow.
    • Map imported data to the appropriate financial statement tables (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement).
    • Perform data validation checks and Reconcile data points across different sources to maintain consistency.
    • Participate in the testing of financial reports within Workiva to ensure data integrity and report accuracy.
    • Assist with training end-users on the Workiva platform as needed.

    Essential Skills:

    • Excel Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use of complex formulas. Ability to manage large datasets and perform complex functions within Excel is crucial.
    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate and high-quality work under tight deadlines.
    • Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn new software applications, specifically Workiva.
    • Teamwork: Strong team player with the ability to collaborate with colleagues across different functions of the organisation.

    Qualifications:

    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • 1-2 years of experience in financial reporting or a related field.
    • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
    • Experience with Workiva or other financial reporting tools is a plus.
