    Process & Industrial Engineer - East London

    Responsibilities :

    • Maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) using SAP MRP system
    • Comply with schedule for periodic BOM audits; and ensure timeous closure of findings
    • Lead and implement engineering changes, with minimal investment and a drive for zero obsolescence
    • Ensure effective process planning with the goal to maximize resource utilization
    • Update and maintain standard work instructions (SWI)
    • Conduct method and time studies as a tool to optimize resource planning
    • Review and manage Process FMEA using APiS software
    • Assume responsibility for the receipt and accurate control of patterns and/or CAD data
    • Generate cutting programs to create cut-parts for the manufacture of trim covers
    • Where needed, ensure cutting dies are manufactured according to customer specifications and/or CAD data
    • Liaise with suppliers and ensure adherence to latest engineering revision levels
    • Update and maintain plant layout drawings using AutoCAD
    • Assume responsibility for the submission of BOMs to IMDS and liaise with IMDS team for approvals
    • Comply with all relevant Lear procedures and policies

    Educational Requirements :

    • NDip / B-Tech Industrial or Mechanical Engineering (or any equivalent qualification)
    • 3 – 5 years working experience
    • A proven track record in the automotive industry

    Special Requirements :

    • Good communication skills
    • Be able to function autonomously
    • Knowledge of Lectra and Gerber cutting machines would be beneficial
    • A solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing would be beneficial
    • Knowledge of the following software's would be beneficial: SAP MRP system; APiS FMEA; AutoCAD
    • Have a firm grasp of the MS Office package

    Logistics Planner - East London

    Responsibilities :

    • To place weekly raw material orders on suppliers.
    • Track customer variation on orders that could be transmitted to our supplier base.
    • Expedite orders using the standard transport mode
    • Escalate material or supply problems. Ensure to monitor on-time delivery.
    • Ensure that all imports requirements are met (FCL/ LCLrequirements –TO’s, forecasts, etc)
    • Review and action delivery discrepancies
    • Manage Excess & Obsolescence management; Engineering Change management of your parts
    • Work with the team on CIP’s
    • Cycle count control of parts at risk/ needing review
    • Supplier management

    Educational Requirements :

    • Tertiary qualification is essential.

    Related experience :

    • Good administrative experience and computer skills is essential.  A working knowledge of SAP or a similar system would be advantageous. Minimum 5 years of supply chain experience within the automotive environment is essential.

    Special Requirements :

    • The ideal candidate would display a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.  The ability to work independently. Good communicator.
