    Junior Software Developer

    Basic Requirements:

    • Formal Tertiary education:
    • Grade 12
    • Information Technology Degree / National Diploma Software Development

    Languages:

    • English – Read, write and speak (required)
    • Afrikaans – Read, write and speak (optional)
    • Drivers Licence: Code 8- (required)

    Experience:

    Minimum of 1 years’ experience in:

    • Proficiency in React, NodeJs
    • Familiarity / Willingness to learn: Nextron, Vercel, AWS, and Tailwind CSS (advantageous) Electron, and Next.js.
    • Good understanding of front-end, back-end, and database development.

    Job Objectives:

    The Junior Software Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the VR content hosting platform, encompassing both web and standalone applications. This role ensures seamless customer access to VR content, maintains code integrity across platforms, and drives the evolution of the platform into a Learning Management System (LMS). The developer will independently manage all aspects of the application lifecycle, from feature development and bug fixes to quality assurance, deployment, and ensuring that AWS hosting management is maintained and managed efficiently.

    • Provide customers with seamless access to VR training content.
    • Ensure a robust, scalable, and user-friendly platform.
    • Drive customer retention and satisfaction by enhancing platform capabilities.
    • Evolve the VR content hosting application into a comprehensive LMS.
    • Minimize risks associated with new feature releases by implementing a staging environment to test updates before production deployment.

    Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

    Development and Maintenance:

    • Develop new features for the VR content hosting web and standalone applications.
    • Maintain a unified codebase across platforms (web and standalone).
    • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and backups of the application.

    Bug Fixing and Quality Assurance:

    • Identify and resolve application bugs promptly.
    • Conduct thorough QA testing before releases to ensure high performance and reliability.

    Staging Environment Management:

    • Design, implement, and maintain a staging environment to test new features and updates.
    • Ensure robust risk management processes are in place to shield customers from bugs and downtime associated with feature releases.

    Feature Enhancement and Scoping:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to scope and implement new features, including LMS functionalities.
    • Continuously improve user experience based on customer feedback.

    Hosting and Deployment Management:

    • Manage AWS hosting environments, ensuring uptime and scalability.
    • Handle Vercel deployments and related configurations.

    Documentation and Code Integrity:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for application features, updates, and maintenance routines.
    • Ensure secure and efficient version control practices.

    • To be involved at all stages of the development life cycle: initial analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging and support
    • Write detailed specs for their work and break it down into milestones to help manage the project effectively
    • Provide realistic time estimates for how long tasks will take to help us stay on track and meet deadlines
    • Management of development subtask milestones and progress updating thereof on a daily basis. It’s super important that the content creator accurately records their hours. This will help us stay on top of invoicing and make sure we’re capturing all the time spent on the project
    • Customer training responsibilities

    360 Video Content Creation:

    • Assist videographer team in coordinating 360 video shoots
    • Editing 360 video content
    • 360 video training simulation content creating in Unity
    • Backup System & Verification: Ensure that there’s a system in place that automatically backs up their work.
    • Setting up and maintaining the right backup system.
    • Periodically reviewing the system to ensure its up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies
    • Double-checking that their work is actually being backed up in the system regularly to avoid any issues
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in sales processes and strategies
    • Travelling to other locations to implement systems, which will include setting up the systems, databases/servers, training the users on the system, maintain support and control of the system in ensuring that all users are using the system correctly

    Manual Lathe Turning Artisan

    Basic Requirements:

    • Formal Tertiary education: Qualified Artisan (Tool Maker/Turner machinist),

    Experience:

    • 2 – 5 years after qualified within the machining / tool making environment.
    • Must have had raw material handling experience
    • Worked manual lathe machines

    Job Objectives:

    • The Successful Incumbent (Toolmaker, Fitter and Turner, Turner Machinist), must be competent in reading mechanical drawings, actual planning and completion of the task as set out on the aforesaid drawing
    • Be responsible for operating the Manual Lathes, for all components to be manufactured
    • He must maintain quality as well as tolerances as stipulated for all tasks assigned to him and complete tasks as per project timing requirement.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 5 years’ experience on manual mill
    • Read mechanical manufacturing drawings
