    Contract Principal Engineer

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • FET Planning – must be able to accurately establish cost estimate for input into product brief & reply for budget approval and establish detail schedules in order to meet project milestones.
    • FET Procurement – Establish basic equipment specification and compile close tender bid package with clear and concise scope of work for both local & TMC procured facilities.
    • FET Installation preparation – Equipment buy off at Vendor (VTO) or TMC. Installation preparation including plant layout based on schedule management
    • FET Installation /Commissioning – Close collaboration with plant / Vendors & TMC to ensure safety compliance as well as quality and other production related targets are achieved on time and within budget.
    • Handover – Compile data from production trials & co-ordinate handover from Local & TMC divisions to PEPD then finally to Plant

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • NQF 6/ S4 Mechanical Engineering Qualification (minimum 360 credits)
    • Must have 6 years’ relevant working experience
    • Project management experience essential
    • Knowledge of automotive Paint process (Pretreatment /ED and TC) advantageous
    • Knowledge of Paint production systems advantageous
    • Knowledge of Conveyer, Lifters, and transfer systems essential
    • Knowledge of HVACs, ARP, Boilers advantageous
    • Knowledge of Equipment Safety standards essential
    • Knowledge of Environment standards applicable to Paint process advantageous
    • Knowledge of Process control equipment viz. PLC’s, Proximity switches, photocells, VSD, pumps etc. essential
    • Must be computer literate (Excel, Word, Auto Cad)
    • Independently Cost management and budget control
    • Detail Reporting on Data and trends
    • Good presentation skills

    • High level of computer literacy is needed for this position. (Excel, Word, DraftSight, Catia(advantageous))
    • Cost management and budget control
    • Measurement and analysis of equipment

    Technical Specialist Quality Assurance

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

    • Warranty Reduction activities
    • Analyse Warranty trends
    • Negotiate with local suppliers Warranty cost share ratios
    • Co-ordination of Field Technical Report resolution
    • Liaison with suppliers on EDER & Warranty matters
    • Port of entry/Port of departure audit co-ordination
    • Field action implementation
    • Recurrence Prevention
    • Quick Field fix/Global registration co-ordination
    • Pre-production checks for new model launch

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Minimum NQF Level 6 (Engineering)
    • Driver‘s License (Code 08)
    • 5 – 10 Years of working Experience at Automotive Industry
    • Manufacturing Improvement and Supplier development Experience will be an advantage.
    • Stable Supply and risk mitigation experience
    • Good working knowledge of MS Office and Project Management.
    • Production preparation and Change point Management
    • Must be willing to travel local and international.
