Role Purpose/Business Unit:

• The Business Manager role reports directly to the Chief Officer Legal, Risk & Compliance Officer and provides, inter alia,  day-to-day legal support (including opinions /legislative interpretation/ drafting) ,operational management and coordination across Legal, Risk, Compliance and Privacy (LRC) as well  to enable the Chief Officer to perform her functions efficiently/effectively - strengthen governance, reporting discipline and delivery of key commitments.
• The candidate will have access to all matters in which the Chief Officer is involved in (including access to the mailbox) & will be part of LRC EXCO meetings, amongst other high-profile meetings.  

Your responsibilities will include:

• Increase the available time and agility of the Chief Officer by owning the LRC operational cadence (first drafts of legal documents, emails, reports, guiding the teams, planning, governance, actions and follow-ups).
• To act as liaison between the Chief Officer and other stakeholders both internal and external including the LRC EXCO members.
• To be responsible for all the reporting needs within LRC to integrate into Exco and board reports as the first point of contact for all by Vodafone, External Auditors , Group Exco on reporting as well as all Workshop / Group engagements & Speaking requirements including presentations (responsible for drafting presentation) and liaison between Vodafone UK and LRC EXCO.
• To assist the Chief Officer with various functions ranging from proactive LRC analysis to business deliverables, especially strategic decisions.
• Project management across LRC. 

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

Support the Chief Officer’s Office

• Ensure timeous and within budget LRC deliverables.
• Promote a service mentality and develop strong relationships with Group EXCO, VF Group and OpCo teams.
• Support alignment of activities and objectives across LRC requirements.
• Deliver actionable measurement for all impacting projects and initiatives.
• Lead world class measurement and improvement model for the analytical and operational teams across LRC.
• Manage creation of consistent and integrated improvement.
• Resolve problems and mediate disputes before they are escalated to the Chief Officer where possible.
• Facilitate the dissemination and receipt of key information by working closely with the Chief Officer and leadership team.
• Represent the Chief Officer in meetings and action decisions / deliverables as mandated from time to time.

Financial review and analysis

• Work closely with the Finance Business Partner to analyse and interpret financial information to ensure that operates within budget requirements.
• Prepare executive summaries and updates on expenditure/cost against deliverables.
• Proactively engage with LRC leadership on operational and reporting items as required from time to time.
• Monitor the implementation of cost saving initiatives.
• Manage the Legal Provisioning Process for sign off by the Chief Officer and CEO.=

Reporting and Governance

• Ensure a sound reporting framework is in place which is aligned to the Vodacom / Vodafone standards.
• Work with key stakeholders to design and develop an automated dashboard that displays the Chief Officer KPI’s and is fit for purpose.
• Ensure that good governance principles are adhered to within the Chief Officer’s office.
• Co-ordinate and drive monthly reports (Board / EXCO etc) and reviews as required by the Chief Officer with a focus on critically filtering and prioritising key pieces of information.
• Prepare the necessary documentations and presentations as required for internal and external audiences by prioritising and validating information that facilitates sound decision making.
• Provide analysis and reporting for Exco and Board of Directors.
• Ensure business decisions are implemented and executed within the approved and accepted governance framework.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

• Minimum 3 year relevant degree - must be a qualified lawyer.
• Post qualification experience minimum 2 years.

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

• Managing functional responsibilities at a senior manager level within a corporate environment.
• Project management.
• Managing / building relationships at Executive level.
• Minimum of 2 years Leadership/Management experience (an advantage).
• Providing financial analysis at Executive Management level.

Role Purpose

• The Senior Specialist – Cloud & Network Cyber Security ensures the design, implementation, and operation of secure, reliable, and scalable cloud and network security capabilities across M‑Pesa Africa.
• The role provides expert security architecture for projects, drives automation and Zero Trust initiatives, maintains critical security controls, and strengthens the organisation’s overall cyber resilience. As a dedicated Cyber Security SPOC for assigned markets, the role supports vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance, ensuring harmonised standards and continuous improvement of M‑Pesa’s security posture.

Your responsibilities will include:

Impact on the Business

• Coordinate optimisation of Operational and Monitoring Cyber Security Baseline (CSB) controls related to Network Security.
• Design and implement network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security breaches.
• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, including perimeter and insecure port reviews.
• Develop, enforce, and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures.
• Collaborate with IT, Cloud, Network, and business teams to ensure integrated security controls.
• Deliver training and knowledge‑sharing on network security practices.
• Support internal and external technology audits and ensure closure of audit findings within agreed timelines.

Customers, Suppliers and Third Parties

• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and stakeholder security requirements.
• Monitor compliance of Cyber Security managed services contracts against agreed SLAs.
• Support validation and completion of technology audit checklists and user access reviews.
• Coordinate analytical processes and cyber incident response activities.
• Ensure adherence to change management processes for all planned and emergency changes.

Innovation and change

• Contribute to Security & Privacy by Design Assurance (SPDA) processes to ensure GDPR and business requirements are met.
• Continuously review and enhance security policies, controls, and baselines to meet evolving threats.
• Establish analytics frameworks and tools to improve threat visibility and readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement through simplification, automation and optimisation of cyber security processes.

Communication

• Lead internal and third‑party service review meetings covering performance, SLAs, quality and service improvements.
• Recommend and track Cyber Security Service Improvement Plans, ensuring actions are completed on time.
• Train and raise security awareness across MPA users, partners and third‑party vendors.
• Drive timely communication during planned or emergency incidents to internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Eng/Computer Science/information Technology or equivalent Technology related degree
• Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, AZ‑500, CEH, Security+, Network+, ComptiaSecurity+/CCNA Security
• Continuous professional development in cloud, network or cybersecurity.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and security tools.

Core Competencies,knowledge and experience:

• Strong experience in Cloud and Network Security architecture and operations.
• Hands‑on experience with IPS, WAF, VPN, firewalls, endpoint security and SIEM tools.
• Solid knowledge of Azure security services and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex cloud and network security issues (L1–L3).
• Strong analytical thinking, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent documentation and report writing ability.
• Proven project execution capability and proactive threat management mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑market and cross‑functional teams.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years Network Security experience (IPS, WAF, VPNs, Content Filters, scanning tools).
• Minimum 2 years hands‑on experience implementing and maintaining Network Security solutions.
• Experience with Azure cloud security tools and hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience supporting vulnerability remediation, audits and security incidents.
• Experience producing HLDs, LLDs and network/cloud documentation.
• Exposure to regional or multi‑market environments is an advantage.
