    Project Manager (Wind)

    Responsabilities 

    • In order to anchor their leading market position in renewable energy expert services, they are looking for a motivated new team member to join our Consultancy team! The team members are experienced in solar and wind energy, technical due diligence, resource assessment and project development and with their support you will act as a project manager in:

    Conducting Due Diligence for photovoltaic and/or wind installations in Africa and internationally. This can include but is not limited to:

    • Design Verification
    • Technical Review of main Components
    • Contract reviews (EPC, O&M contract, Power Purchase Agreement, etc..),
    • Provisional/intermediate/final acceptance certificates, including power plant inspections
    • Long term Energy Yield Assessments and/or Reviews
    • Supporting sponsor(s) and lender(s) throughout the financial close process
    • Liaising with legal and financial advisors
    • Following up on project construction
    • Commissioning support
    • Delivering the study following the planning, budget and the internal quality process of execution.
    • Contributing to business development and acquisition, including the assistance in preparing quotations, managing existing and new customers through efficient and structured account management

    Of course, there are some non-negotiables:

    • You hold a degree in Electrical, mechanical or civil engineer
    • You have 2-5 years of experience in a similar environment (Technical Advisory Company, Independent Power Producers (IPP), EPC Contractor or Developers) in the renewable energy field
    • You show a strong interest in renewable energies and this reflects in your way of life
    • Previous work experience in an international environment, preferably experience in the African context
    • Experience in project management and follow up of client contacts.
    • You are fluent in English – spoken as well as written
    • You demonstrate very strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Your presentation skills are on point and you like participating in discussion groups
    • You thrive while working in a team but have no problem finishing work on your own either
    • Ability to travel to project site within Africa, customer meetings and the companies external offices in Belgium, France or Spain if required (for short period only)
    • You hold a temporary or permanent work/residence permit in South Africa

    Bonus points for:

    • Knowledge of AUTOCAD, Sketchup, WindPro, DigSilent and in PVsyst is a big plus, as well as knowledge of GIS software tools (QGIS, ArcGIS,…)
    • knowledge of French, Dutch or additional languages
    • A good business awareness and network in Africa and emerging markets

    Risk and Compliance Manager

    The Role

    We are seeking a Risk and Compliance Manager, based in Johannesburg, working for a leading Oil company. Reports to the Financial Director. The role of the Risk and Compliance Manager is to ensure that the business interest is managed through effective processes and controls thus minimizing the Company risk. The Risk and Compliance Manager ensures good corporate governance, the application of compliance principles and ensures that the company is compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements.

    Experience and Expertise  

    Qualifications:

    • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or CA(SA), with min 3 years post articles experience

    Other:

    • 3 years’ experience in Internal Auditing at a management level
    • Experience in delivery and management of outsourced service providers will be advantageous
    • Work experience in any of the following sectors; Petroleum/Energy, Engineering, Production/ Manufacturing, Industrial
    • Knowledge of external leading risk and controls frameworks such as COSO and ISO 31000

    Key Accountabilities

    • Responsible for the Enterprise Risk Management
    • Co-ordinates the implementation of the compliance framework and the annual compliance program, testing the effectiveness of the control model and identifying training needs in key risk areas.
    • Embeds risk management and interventions into deficiencies, conducting control reviews and ad-hoc investigations, and making advanced recommendations to improve the detection, prevention and remediation of control weaknesses and fraud.
    • Conducts reviews to provide assurance that internal and external audit issues are addressed timeously and resolved, identifying significant financial reporting risks and ensuring that effective mitigation plans are in place.
    • Systematic system of Internal Control and Compliance
    • Co-ordinates the development and implementation of any new control procedures and ensures that they operate successfully.
    • Manage the Credit Management outsource service provider and the applicable Interfaces
    • Manage Credit Exposure within agreed / acceptable parameters
    • Single Point of Accountability for On-Road Offer Processes and Controls
    • Single Point of Accountability for Tender procedures and compliance ito policy

    Enterprise Risk Management and Mitigation

    • Annual review of the Enterprise Business and Control risks
    • Develop in-year Risk Priority Plan and ensure all items / actions are closed

    Control

    • Overall responsibility and coordination of the Assurance and Risk Committee and the Internal Control Committee
    • Provide key inputs into the Audit Committee meetings
    • Responsible for Control breakdown investigations (BCIR’s) and closing of resulting actions
    • Planning and Coordination of Internal Audits

    Compliance

    • Ensure strict compliance to the Counterparty due Diligence process and manage SLA with outsource service provider
    • Overall responsibility for the Enterprise Control Dashboard and closure of any actions or escalations

    Manage the Credit Management outsource service provider

    • Coordinate Monthly Review Meetings and ensure actions are closed
    • Coordinate Quarterly Performance reviews and ensure SLA’s are complied with

    Credit Exposure

    • Manage Credit Exposure within agreed / acceptable parameters

    On-road offers

    • Define, design and maintain the key KPI’s, Controls and Management Reports (MI) on monthly basis to ensure effective operation of the back-office support

    Procurement Tender Procedure

    • Participate in all tender processes and ensure compliance to the Policy

    Additional:

    • Interface with National Sales Managers, New Business Development teams, Heads of Strategy of Strategy and HR, and existing & new customers
    • Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties, including key customers
    • Interfaces with external service providers on best practice delivery and adoption

    Key Performance Areas

    Management, Leadership and Organizational Development

    • Ensure implementation and development of the local organisation, leadership and management in country/region in line with vision, mission, values, strategy and ethical framework
    • Develop and manage own HR/office team
    • Be part of the local management team and actively contribute to the development of it

    Recruitment and Onboarding

    • Responsible for employer branding in the region to attract the right people with the right competence and behaviour
    • Ensure timely recruitment and onboarding of required level and quality of new hires
    • Ensure appropriate external agreements with recruitment agencies with desired level of competence to meet future business needs
    • Ensure appropriate support and regulatory compliance for relocations and work permitting matters

    HR and Office administration

    • Ensure efficient HR and office administration including employee contracts and templates, personnel records and filing, HR reporting and statistics, safe travel routines etc.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance related to work permits and tax
    • Ensure that employee handbook for country/region is developed and updated

    Requirements

    • University Degree in HR, Organisational Development or similar
    • At least 10 years’ experience or relevant background from HR and organisation management
    • Experiences of working in an international matrix organization
    • Strong South Africa (and regional) employment legislation knowledge
    • Experience with leading others
