    Lecturer/Senior Lecturer: Curriculum Studies

    Minimum Requirements
    LECTURER:

    • Master’s degree in Curriculum Studies, or relevant discipline, with a preceding qualification at B Ed Honours level, in Curriculum studies,
    • A professional teaching qualification as a teacher.
    • Demonstrated ability to teach across subjects.
    • Evidence of active participation in professional, industry and/or community activities.
    • Knowledge and experience of implementing quality assurance requirements.
    • Evidence of competence in administration of a course/subject at departmental level.
    • Excellent computer skills.

    SENIOR LECTURER:

    • PhD/Doctorate, or equivalent in Curriculum Studies, or any relevant discipline,
    • Preceding teaching qualifications at B Ed Honours and master's level in Curriculum studies,
    • A professional qualification as a teacher,
    • A minimum of 5 years' experience of which 3 should be at a HE institution,
    • Evidence of university teaching at an under-graduate and postgraduate level: Teaching modules linked to Curriculum theory, design and development,
    • Relevant research and publication record as an established scholar in the field of Curriculum Studies,
    • Evidence of sustained publications in accredited journal/s, as well as successful completion of postgraduate research supervision at M Ed Level,
    • Evidence of successful curriculum development of programmes and / or modules at HE level,
    • Research supervision experience at Honours, master’s and/or PhD levels,
    • Active participation in Teaching Practice and Work Integrated Learning activities,

    Recommended requirements:
    Lecturer:

    Lecturer P8: Anthropology

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Master’s degree (NQF level 9) in Social Anthropology.
    • Evidence of 2 years industry experience related to social anthropology, of which 6 months must be experience of teaching Social Anthropology at university level.
    • Evidence of teaching Social Anthropology.
    • Evidence of a DHET-accredited (or accepted) peer-reviewed publication in the form of a journal article, or a book chapter or book. And or peer-reviewed conference proceedings that have the potential to be submitted for publication.
    • Evidence of postgraduate supervision at Honours degree level.

    • It is highly recommended that the incumbent has knowledge of or has teaching experience in specialisation in Plant, Taxonomy, Phylogenetics and Systematics.

     Senior Lecturer
