    Student Discipline Officer - (1140)

    Duties 

    • Assist Head Student Judicial Services during the review of processes, policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with relevant Univen rules, policies, and procedures, including, but not limited to: Student disciplinary procedure, Student appeals procedure, prosecution of all students’ disciplinary hearings or appeals across the University.
    • Attend to investigations on students’ grievances and provide guidance on the possible resolution of the grievances.
    • Conduct training of students and staff on processes, policies, procedures, and practices including, but not limited to: Student disciplinary procedures; Academic dishonesty/ irregularities.
    • Attend to the general administration of the Student Judicial Services.
    • Execution of ad hoc tasks as assigned by Line Management.

    Director: Teaching and Learning - (1154)

    Requirements

    • Candidate must be in possession of a PhD.
    • A minimum of 8 years’ relevant managerial experience, at least five of which should be at the level of HOD of any academic or administrative unit at a university.
    • Experience in higher education teaching and learning, research, quality management.
    • Must have the ability to manage workload and possess efficient administration skills.
    • Experience in functioning and providing administrative support in a complex portfolio in teaching and learning in Higher Education.
    • Management experience in a variety of contexts, including strategic planning, liaison with students, marketing initiatives, events, curriculum alignment and development.
    • Possess Strong project management, organisational and administrative skills.
    • Have a clear understanding of higher education regulatory and quality management.

    Duties

    Strategy development and execution

    • Actively support the Deputy Vice-Chancellor in the achievement of the university’s strategic objectives by coordinating and facilitating the development, execution and monitoring of the University’s Teaching and Learning Vision, mission and strategy
    • Coordinate and facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Teaching and Learning Annual Performance Plans/reports.
    • Coordinate and facilitate the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Teaching and Learning Quarterly Performance Plans/reports.
    • Facilitate and coordinate the development of Teaching and Learning operational plans of Faculties and academic support units in alignment to the institution’s overall vision, mission and strategy.
    • Interpret Teaching and Learning related policies for consistent implementation across the Faculties, support divisions and other relevant structures of the institution
    • Ensure that Faculties and support units follow the relevant and appropriate compliance and reporting obligations and expectations, according to relevant key performance objectives as well as quarterly, annual, and other targets.
    • Work with other Directors of the Academic Division in supporting the implementation of Univen’s teaching and learning strategy and other relevant institutional strategies.
    • Write and submit relevant strategic and operational reports as and when required, including Management reports, Annual reports and other reports and documents for engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including statutory bodies where applicable.
    • Communicate and consult with relevant stakeholders.
    • Manage institutional projects and programmes associated with the Office of the DVC: Teaching and Learning, including Entrepreneurship (scholarly issues)  , 3rd stream income and others.
    • Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders to deliver the projects.
    • Establish an effective governance structure and policies and procedures required.
    • Review current policies and procedures and develop new policies and procedures for the portfolio.
    • Ensure job descriptions are regularly updated for all positions directly reporting to this portfolio.
    • Ensure Faculties submit fair allocation of workloads for staff.
    • Take responsibility for ensuring that performance agreements of staff directly reporting to the DVC T & L division are submitted timeously.
    • Manage staff training, development, coaching and mentoring of staff reporting to the DVC Teaching and Learning.
    • Provide input into Teaching and Learning Capex and Budget.

    Specialist Strategic Monitoring and Reporting - (1156)

    Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) s. 
    • A postgraduate qualification in the above will be an added advantage.
    •  A minimum of 4 years proven experience in the public or private sector reporting, monitoring and evaluation environment (i.e., implementing programmes or projects and data management). 
    • Advanced computer skills with MS Office and other statistical or data processing packages. 
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the skills development environment, performance monitoring and relevant applicable legislation. 
    • Should have strong report writing skills and analytical skills.
    •  Ability to organise, work independently and collaboratively within a team. 
    • Ability to design and implement internal systems and controls to ensure proper performance monitoring and reporting. 
    • Excellent planning, organising, communication, and project or programme management skills. 
    • Knowledge of document management, tracking and retrieving of information. Good communication and administration skills. 
    • Demonstrate knowledge of project management; and A valid driver’s license.

    Duties:

    • Implement an annual M&E Plan, including performance information monitoring and reporting tools, processes, and frameworks.
    • Ensure effective and efficient use of performance information monitoring tools, processes and frameworks and guide and advise management regarding utilisation.
    • Day-to-day management of reported performance information and associated evidence which include management of the Univen’s Performance Information Management System Management, Monitoring, Reporting Module (PIMM&R) and Corporator Business Management System.
    • Receive, verify, and document validated reported performance evidence according to the Institution’s performance information management, monitoring, evaluation and reporting policy.
    • Attend to all internal and external audit findings and engage with business units to resolve audit-related matters and report on progress on audit findings.
    • Review Business Units’ monthly and quarterly performance reports and performance evidence against the University’s approved Annual Performance Plan, Technical Indicator Descriptions and Verification Guidelines and produce evidence-based organisational quarterly performance reports.
    • Review the University’s quarterly and annual performance information and supporting evidence against the approved annual performance plan and technical indicator descriptions and produce organisational draft year-to[1]date or annual performance information reports.
    • Report on the implementation progress of the University’s strategic objectives .
    • Effectively and efficiently communicate with internal and external stakeholders through emails, reports, submissions, letters, memorandums, and presentations.
    • Advise on procedural and technical-related matters regarding performance monitoring, reporting guidelines, and standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
    • Liaise with management and process owners on the internal and external performance monitoring and reporting processes, tools, frameworks, and timelines.
    • Coordinate the DHET quarterly validation information provision and respond to all DHET-related correspondence relating to the University’s performance monitoring and reporting.
    • Organise capacity-building sessions to programme implementing provinces/units on performance monitoring andreporting matters.
    • Execute any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

    • Rotational assistance at the switchboard as IT requested capacity during the registration period.
    • Processing funding agreement forms. 
    • Switchboard duty during the registration period to resolve student queries
