EY Global Talent Procurement Team, is looking to hire a professional based in Johannesburg, South Africa; to run its Procurement function managing Talent related annual spend (recruitment, contract labor, professional services, learning & development, health & insurance, rewards & benefits), focusing potentially on the select regions of the Africa, not including French and Portuguese Speaking countries and North Arica.
With the recent creation of a core business service function in which enablement functions are being placed, the new role is to leverage opportunity to develop a consistent category strategy that drives the delivery of quantitative and qualitative value out of strategic procurement activities. Your key responsibilities
End-to-end delivery of sourcing projects and category management activities for EY business stakeholders.
Act as a trusted business advisor to EY stakeholders, aligning procurement projects with the business’ pipeline and providing Exceptional Customer Services while delivery both brand and quantitative value to the bottom line through cost savings and cost avoidance.
Adherence to EY Procurement policy and processes, including collaboration with Legal (GCO), Risk Management and other EY support functions.
Provides structured management and accurate progress reporting on all projects.
Build and manage a pipeline of Procurement projects in support of category strategy/plan and in collaboration with Procurement leaders and global/local (as applicable) stakeholders
Lead Request for Proposals (RFPs) including commercial contractual negotiations, while partnering with stakeholders and shared functions such as GCO, Risk Management and Vendor Assurance.
Develop relationships with key EY business stakeholders and report procurement progress via regular meetings.
Solid knowledge of key suppliers and their position in the market, in addition to working through current market intelligence resources and partners to perform the latest research.
Execution of sourcing projects in line with the Procurement policy and within the timeline as agreed with key stakeholders.
Minimize contractual risks to EY and manage supplier relationships according to EY’s Procurement and Independence policies.
Achieve value targets, while innovatively developing new cost reduction strategies to improve negotiable spend via sourcing and demand management activities; including spend consolidation and supplier rationalization.
Provide accurate monthly reporting on deals and timely submission of savings forms.

To qualify for the role, you must have
Procurement experience and commercial acumen to drive sourcing and demand management projects across a broad array of category services.

Experience with Source-to-Pay (“S2P”) processes, including managing sourcing projects on SAP system, and execution of online RFx and e-Auctions.
Ideally, you’ll also have

Our legal team supports the EY business by serving as trusted advisors to the EY community and providing the highest quality legal services to EY service lines and business enablement functions.
The opportunity
You will get the opportunity report to the Africa GCO Director and will be responsible for the coordination of legal projects and activities relating to the Legal function across the Africa Sub Area (ASA) . You will be a senior member of the National Quality and Risk Management team.
Your key responsibilities
Management/coordination of, inter alia, the following areas across the ASA:
Engagement letters
Terms of Business
Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements,
Approval of deviations from the standard terms of business,
Provision of legal opinions, negotiation, drafting/reviewing of agreements and other legal documentation,
Dealing with compliance, legislative and regulatory requirements,
Consultations and drafting of all types of contracts and agreements but specifically those in respect of business relationships, consortia, alliances and joint ventures,
Act as the primary negotiator for complex commercial transactions
Compliance with internal governance standards as well as regulatory requirements,
Maintenance of a library of contract precedents,
Documentation of legal processes to be followed,
Maintenance of legal sections of the Risk Management database,
Awareness training relating to all of the above.
General administrative responsibilities that ensure the smooth running of the Q&RM (legal) function including periodic reporting, assisting with regulatory compliance and general risk management and control.
Liaison with external legal practitioners, and Ernst & Young Area (EMEIA) and Global (EYG), where appropriate.
Attending Q&RM and Litigation and Risk committee meetings as required.
Dealing with legal claims against the firm across the ASA
Indemnity Insurance administration and dealing with claims.
Reviewing vendor and all third-party agreements.
Advising on labour matters.
Responsible for legal compliance of the EY South African practice with specific emphasis on the Companies Act, 71 of 2008 and the Consumer Protection Act.
Skills and attributes for success
You'll have the ability to foster and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Your strong data and analytical skills and keen eye for detail will be key in managing a large volume of data. You'll need to be able to manage stakeholder expectations as well as multiple deadlines. It's important to be agile to the ever-changing work environment and priorities in the GCO space.
To qualify for this role, you must have
Minimum LLB or B(Proc)/ B Iuris or similar professional qualification.

As an assurance audit technical senior manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support on International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and the EY Global Audit Methodology (GAM) to audit teams primarily in South Africa but also across our Africa business.
The primary function of a technical consultant is to provide ad-hoc technical support to teams and to assist with the completion of formal consultation documents relating to auditor reporting, reportable irregularities or other mandatory matters per policy. You will draw on your knowledge and experience to help teams solve complex or contentious issues brought to you and will support the Associate Directors and Executive Directors in concluding on technical matters.
Consultants are also required to manage internal projects relating to technical matters which may include developing training material, collateral or template development, coaching of audit teams and risk monitoring / mitigation projects. There is also a smaller element of presenting training to partners and managers across Africa.
You may also opt to take on client serving responsibilities.
Within the technical team you will required to build valued relationships with the executives (partners down to managers) of audit teams and also with your internal peers. Working as a role model for Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM), you'll build, manage and motivate high-performing senior managers, managers and assistant managers who will work with you and for you on projects and on technical consultations. You will be responsible for helping your juniors to build sustainable technical competencies.

Provide ad-hoc support to teams on informal queries relating to methodology, auditor reporting, EY policy, Companies Act issues, reportable irregularities, NOCLAR and other audit technical matters.
Provide support to the consultation process as a Subject Matter Resource (SMR). An SMR works with audit teams to ensure the consultations they submit to an Approver are complete in fact pattern, appropriately researched, well documented and have a conclusion that you as SMR would concur with.
Assisting partners and managers with the application of complex risk management policies and procedures to resolve / manage arising risk matters through applying an understanding of global and local policies.
Responsible for supporting technical ED, and ADs on all arising and urgent technical matters.
