    Cashier / Administrator - Blackheath

    Job Description:

    The Cashier/Administrator’s primary purpose is to provide administrative support to our operations. The successful candidate will be required to:

    • Accurately identify commodities/correct grading and weigh commodities as the grade specifies
    • Ensure that an accurate weighbridge ticket is generated after every transaction
    • Ensure accurate weight deductions are made for all bins, crates, trolleys, bakkies, etc. for all weighbridge tickets
    • Accurately process all weighbridge tickets
    • Count and reconcile cash each day
    • Accurately pay scrap customers and dealers
    • Managing large cash receipts and payments accurately
    • Effective and efficient time management
    • Generate and maintain various reports
    • General office administration

    Qualifying Experience:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Basic Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and Microsoft Office)
    • Ability to work with numbers efficiently
    • Previous experience in administration and cashier duties essential
    • Code 08 driver’s license with own vehicle essential
    • Must be fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans (speak and write)

    Furnace Supervisor - Aluworks

    Job Description

    Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • In-depth and general operation of furnace
    • Constant monitoring of furnace parameters
    • Burner assembly/cleaning and fine-tuning burner combustion
    • Oversee the charging as well as housekeeping of the furnace
    • Monitor scrap quality and assist with scrap blending to achieve desired spec
    • Record production data as required by our quality management system
    • Assist the line manager with ad hoc duties
    • Management of the Furnace equipment and operational procedures
    • Manage quality standards in accordance with set targets and guidelines
    • Manage risk by identifying potential failures and offering solutions to remedy risk
    • Team supervision to ensure smooth operation of the shift
    • Manage consumables and spares to ensure that production runs smoothly
    • Compile shift report including general incidents and delays
    • Investigate incidents and communicate findings possible solutions timeously
    • Implementation and monitoring of Occupation Health and Safety compliance

    Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:

    • Matric (Maths compulsory)
    • Must be computer literate (Microsoft Office)
    • Excellent Communication skills. (verbal, written and presentation)
    • In depth knowledge and experience in operating a furnace
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience as a Supervisor in a production or mechanical environment;
    • Ability to work in and lead a team
    • Ability to work independently
    • Willingness to work overtime and SHIFTS
    • Ability to work under challenging conditions
    • Must have basic knowledge of Health & Safety Rules
    • In good health, physically fit

    Qualified Electrician - Heavy Industry

    Job Description

    The Group has a position available for a suitably experienced, attention to detail and dedicated individual to join the Engineering team as a Qualified Electrician. The successful candidate will report to the Electrical Department Manager. Included in the responsibilities are:

    • Assisting the team with maintenance and upgrading of existing electrical control and distribution systems
    • Electrical diagnoses and suitable repairs
    • Housekeeping
    • Point to point checks on PLCs
    • Point to point checks on control and power systems
    • Read and correctly interpret electrical diagrams

    Qualifying Criteria

    • Qualified Red Seal Electrical Trade test
    • Minimum of 8 years relevant working experience

    • Atleast National N3 certificate for Electricians
    • Good communication skills, (speak, read and write English)
    • Prepared to work overtime
    • Valid Driver’s license

    Transport Controller

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • The Waste Control Division currently has a vacancy for a motivated, professional and organized Transport Controller to join their team. The Transport Controller`s primary purpose is to assist with organizing the logistics of the Waste Control operations to ensure smooth operation and that the requirements of the Waste Control clients are met.

    He/she will also be required to:

    • Manage the day to day transport service requirements
    • Accurate daily planning and effective usage of resources
    • Daily briefing and debriefing of drivers
    • Daily vehicle routing and scheduling
    • Daily monitoring and tracking of vehicles
    • Ensure highest possible customer service levels
    • Ensure that the fleet is in a roadworthy condition and conforms to Company policy in terms of branding and cleanliness
    • Effective supervision of Drivers and General Assistants
    • Effective management of Drivers and General Assistants discipline, time keeping and attendance
    • Effective communication and reporting on various platforms as required by the Company
    • Liaise with Human Resources department in respect of any staff related issues that do arise
    • Ensure Occupational Health and Safety requirements are adhered to

    QUALIFYING CRITERIA

    • Grade 12 or equivalent
    • Previous Fleet controlling experience will be an added advantage
    • Transport Management or similar qualification will be an added advantage
    • Proven Leadership ability – must be able to lead by example.
    • Code 14 driver’s license and (PrDP) will be an advantage
    • Basic Computer skills (MS Word, MS Excel and Microsoft Office)
    • Working knowledge of vehicle tracking systems
