Manage a team of Technical Account Managers (TAMs) to deliver timely, accurate and professional technical assistance to all internal and external customers
Process and track a high volume of software product submissions and requests from a portfolio of global sellers
Ensure a quality experience for AWS Marketplace buyers by ensuring TAM’s vet seller’s products for policy compliance, security standards, and usability
Track and quantify seller operational challenges in aggregate to provide requirements for automation of repetitive tasks, tooling improvements, and standard operating procedures
Work with engineers, PM teams, and senior leadership to improve the seller experience
Demonstrate excellent time-management/prioritization skills and the ability to work independently
Constantly managing and driving a backlog of improvement requests from external and internal stakeholders, constantly assessing for risk and impact
Foster a positive team environment that motivates team members to meet and exceed team SLAs, quality standards, and goals
Manage the team’s operations with a high attention to detail and maintain low error rates for product publishing
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
3 to 5 years of experience leading team’s in technical or account based roles
Understanding of operating systems such as Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, RedHat) and/or Microsoft Windows Server
Knowledge of the software industry, cloud computing, and the AWS stack
Ability to communicate professionally at the executive level in both written and verbal form
Ability to understand technical concepts so you can provide input into solution scalability
Ability to write white papers providing business guidance to senior leadership
Bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity, including troubleshooting and problem solving in loosely-defined situations
Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities from a variety of internal and external stakeholders
Ability to deliver results independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a strong sense of ownership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree, MBA, or equivalent work experience
Experience with AWS services, EC2, S3, Lambda, Docker, AI, or IoT is a plus
Previous experience leading operations for vendor management, digital content pipelines and ingestion, technical account management, product management, or system administrators
Experience streamlining disparate processes and systems into a cohesive workflow
Previous experience using creative and analytical problem-solving skills to deliver complex solutions
Experience in completing deep dives and data analysis on emerging issues for senior leadership
Serve as a key member of the South Africa Public Sector team in helping to drive overall AWS market and technical strategy.
Help define the AWS market segments, customer base, and industry verticals we target.
Help executing the strategic business development plan while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, etc.).
Identify specific prospects/partners to approach while communicating the specific value proposition for their business and use case.
Contribute to the business development pipeline by engaging with prospects, partners, and key customers.
Work closely with the customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.
Understand the technical requirements of our customers and work closely with the internal development teams to guide the direction of our product offerings for developers.
Prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks to closing new customers.
Develop long-term strategic partnerships in support of our key markets.
Handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Experienced with account management (Public Sector) and solution selling ability
Some relevant technical knowledge is helpful, such as: database systems, core distributed computing concepts, fundamentals of cloud computing and virtualization, storage systems, content delivery networks (CDNs) etc. with ability to go deep enough on technical aspects to differentiate between varied data storage services.
The right person will have excellent communication and writing skills, and be both technical and analytical. This person must possess several years of direct sales experience in the public sector market segments.
Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
Must have a good understanding of government procurement and education contract vehicles.
Excellent communicator who can quickly earn the respect of the team and customers.
Must have the ability to work independently and effectively across internal and external organizations.
Acts in accordance with vision, mission, and established goals.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Significant technology related sales, business development, or sales engineering/consulting experience.
Several years of experience selling within the public sector industry.
