    Information Risk Specialist

    To mitigate risk to Capitec Bank by ensuring data/information risk across the organisation is identified, evaluated, managed, mitigated and reported in line with strategic requirements and best practice.The role is situated within the Risk Management division and focus specifically  on Information/Data related risks (confidentiality, integrity and availability of data) across the organisation.
    Requirements

    • National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or National Certificate (Vocational)
    • A relevant tertiary qualification (diploma/certificate/degree) in Information Management/ Information Technology - Computer Science or Information Risk, Auditing, Governance.
    • Post graduate Diploma in the above disciplines would be advantageous
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk management/data management and/or internal audit.
    • Proven experience in Data governance, IT Audit or Information security
    • Experience with RDARR, DAMA, GDPR; Some experience gained within the banking industry and/or Data analysis and capability experience would be ideal

    Knowledge of:

    • Risk management practices and frameworks
    • Data Management best practices and frameworks
    • How information and risk IT interface with Data and Digital
    • Understand relationships and controls regarding vendor relationships and cloud environment.
    • Understand IT architecture, best practise in industry, Cloud architecture,
    • DAMA (Data management Association; sets best practice standards.)
    • Legal and regulatory controls applicable to information risk.
    • Ideal Knowledge of:
    • Banking knowledge
    • Knowledge of risk management best practices and/or RDARR principles, COSO, ISF
    • IT audit and Information Security (ISF, CobiT etc.)

    Credit Book Monitoring

    • To monitor the contractual and pre-legal credit risk using policies that result in the desired financial outcome. 
    • Determine insights to explain variances by analysing collection data and operational metrics. 
    • Propose changes to policies to improve collection performance.

    Experience

    Min:

    • 5 years’ experience in credit monitoring, reporting and / or analysis
    • 5 years analysis with the application of MS Excel

    Ideal:

    • 5 years’ experience within Capitec Bank Credit Operations
    • Previous exposure to SQL, Qlikview
    • Qualifications (Minimum)
    • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational in Grade 12 National Certificate
    • A relevant degree

    Knowledge

    • Min:Knowledge of the following areas are required to perform the job:
    • The National Credit Act (NCA) and the implication for Capitec business
    • Ideal:Knowledge of:
    • Capitec Bank’s Credit Policies
    • Capitec Bank's banking system (Front- and Back-End)
