    Sales Executive

    Key Responsibilities

    • Achieve monthly, quarterly & yearly Sales budgets
    • Ensuring that expense budgets as set are not exceeded
    • Ensure that all expected call rate of ±8 calls per day is maintained
    • Ensuring that all pre-call preparations are done and proper planning for each call
    • Planning includes weekly, cyclical, and yearly planning
    • Weekly call cycle
    • Call plan to include a Rand value target for each customer (Previous shortfalls to be included in targets) 

    All calls to have the following activities planned:

    • Placing of all orders
    • Stock counts are updated and correct
    • Listed items - customer compliance
    • Merchandising
    • Shelf health
    • Price Indicator labels current and correct
    • Shelf trays are clean and in good shape
    • Stock pressure
    • Stock rotation (no expired stock found, action taken with near dated stock)
    • Correct Layout
    • In store display maintained
    • Point of sale material management
    • Promotional material is available and meets Quality standards
    • Build relationship with Store manager, Regional manager and all relevant staff that has influence on orders and shelf space
    • Negotiating of free displays and increase shelf space

    Promotional Review

    • On every call during the promotional period progress must be discussed with the manager/owner of the store
    • Make use of COGNOS and IRI data provided to discuss performance

    ​​​​​​​Negotiated promotional elements must include:

    • Increased shelf space
    • Moving to eye level if not already on eye level
    • Gondola end display or on Shelf display
    • Reduction in the Retail Selling price
    • Increase in stock holding
    • Sales out of the customer must be monitored
    • Reports to be completed via handheld device while calling on customers
    • Monthly reports by area performance, reasons for success and failures
    • Action plans for underperforming stores
    • Make use of the handheld device to collate and keep accurate data on calls completed and customers information
    • Working closely with our Merchandising partners
    • Being responsible for the supervision, ongoing training of merchandisers in store
    • Being in contact with the RSM daily
    • Reporting of non-compliance to L&S Regional Sales Manager
    • Make use of COGNOS and IRI data provided in negotiations

    Head of Category and Customer Marketing

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership

    • Define and execute the overall Category, Customer, and RGM strategy in line with corporate and brand objectives.
    • Drive collaboration between Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to deliver integrated commercial plans.
    • Translate brand and business strategies into actionable shopper and trade programs.

    Customer & Category Development

    • Lead category growth strategies across key channels and customers using market, shopper, and consumer insights.
    • Conduct category reviews and partner with retailers to shape assortment, shelving, and merchandising strategies.
    • Collaborate with Marketing to create the annual Growth planning dialogue to present to Board members.
    • Collaborate & Lead the Sales planning dialogue (SPD) with Sales to execute joint business plans with strategic customers.

    Revenue Growth Management (RGM)

    • Lead the development and execution of RGM strategies including pricing architecture, promotional strategy, pack-price mix, and channel/customer profitability.
    • Optimize trade investment effectiveness through rigorous post-evaluation and ROI tracking.
    • Analyze revenue drivers and recommend pricing, promotion, and assortment adjustments to improve margin and volume growth.
    • Establish revenue growth KPIs and dashboards in collaboration with Finance and Sales teams.

    Team Leadership

    • Build and lead a high-performing team across trade marketing, shopper marketing, category management, and RGM functions.
    • Inspire a data-driven and customer-centric culture, fostering continuous learning and performance development.

    Budget & Performance Management

    • Own the Customer and Trade Marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with financial targets and investment effectiveness.
    • Lead the measurement and reporting of all trade and RGM initiatives with actionable insights and continuous improvement plans.

    Innovation & Insights

    • Leverage advanced analytics and shopper insights to drive innovation in promotions, trade tools, and shopper engagement.
    • Keep ahead of market trends, channel evolution, and competitor strategies to inform growth initiatives.

    Qualifications/experience 

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Finance, or related field
    • 6–8+ years in Trade Marketing, Category Management, or RGM, ideally within FMCG, Retail, or Consumer Goods.
    • Strong commercial acumen with proven experience in revenue growth initiatives and trade spend optimization.
    • Experience managing cross-functional teams and leading projects across multiple channels/customers.
    • Advanced knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Nielsen, Circana, Power BI)

    Key Responsibilities

    Brand planning and execution in conjunction with line manager

    • Translate international guidelines into a local strategy and develop 3+ year marketing vision and plan for your dedicated brand portfolio.
    • Develop, implement and monitor strong (and smart) A&P plans and create excitement around the brands with uncompromised focus on supporting the premium equity of Lindt. Mobilize the company and work closely with International Marketing and external partners (agencies, printers, brand partners) to execute timely and with high attention to detail.
    • Do trade visits and conduct consumer research as needed to build consumer knowledge and to support decision making process.
    • Partner with Trade Marketing and Key Account Management to bring initiatives into stores and to guarantee aligned campaign look and feel.
    • Presentations to key stakeholders on new projects / product lines / marketing initiatives in order to get buy in and commitment (incl. South African management team and international managers and directors)  

    Management of product P&L’s in conjunction with line manager

    • Take ownership of the product P&L’s to meet growth and profit targets
    • Drive your dedicated brand portfolio by evaluating, developing and recommending new product and marketing initiatives based on consumer and customer insights
    • Develop new aspects to the product line (packaging, price point, SKU rationalization) with focus on product profitability
    • Work in conjunction with the Trade Marketing, Controlling and Key Account teams to analyze business results and to translate the brand strategy into customer marketing objectives and commercial strategies.
    • Generate market insights and screen international marketing plans to identify new growth opportunities for South African business

    Leadership

    • Work and lead within a highly motivated Marketing Team and in cross-functional teams to leverage business potential and to help improve processes for Lindt & Sprüngli South Africa
