    Production Engineer

    Your mission:

    • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis
    • Tracking plant production and OEE and analysing the data and developing solutions
    • Materials and stock management
    • Shut planning and coordination
    • Process safety risk management and quality control
    • Assist the Head of Production with people development
    • Contractor management
    • Ensure continuous improvement and process optimisation
    • Develop SOPs, BOPs, and WOP and troubleshooting guides(responsibility)
    • Manage budget and cost deviations (own area)
    • Safety, health and environmental risk management
    • Perform standby duties as required.

    Your profile:

    • BSc Chemical Engineering or equivalent
    • Post Graduate qualification will be advantageous
    • SAP system experience will be advantageous
    • PI process book system experience will be advantageous
    • South African Driver’s License
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Process / Production Engineer within a manufacturing industry (pulp & paper / cement – lime kiln)

    Your mission:

    • Perform paper sampling, analysis and testing in the paper laboratory
    • Analyze data, interpret and record quality data
    • Updating systems, procedures and calibrate equipment regarding statutory requirements

    Production Supervisor

    Your mission

    • Manage the shift team on production KPI’s
    • Maintains morale and discipline of the team on shift
    • Production: Meet volume and efficiency targets for PM 41 and PM 42 at the required quality
    • SHEQ: High focus on water usage, fibre loss, Safety and Health issues, and complies with environmental and safety regulations
    • Cost: Manage production, material and people costs
    • Troubleshoot operational problems in the plant
    • Liaises with Maintenance Foreman in order to carry out maintenance work in a safe and efficient manner

    • 5 years’ experience in a heavy industry environment

    Technical Risk Manager

    Your mission:

    • Safety - ensuring that the Fire and Emergency department conforms to the safety regulations of Mondi
    • Insurance Actions – Actively driving and co-ordinating all risk actions as identified by Mondi’s Risk partners

    • GMR2.7A appointment – Track record of handling legal duties and experience at management level

    • Achievements in the completion of large projects | shutdowns or have carried responsibility for a major industrial site’s departments

    Quality Control Inspector

    Your mission:

    • Delegates and supervises subordinates with regard to routine and special tasks as required
    • Responsible for conducting Engagement Board sessions 
    • Ensures that all QC Laboratory consumables are available for each shift reporting such shortages to the QC Lab Manager
    • Ensures by regular inspections that the laboratories are clean and safe at all times
    • Carries out short term calibration checks on all laboratory equipment
    • Rectifies all faulty equipment where possible. Failing that, arranges for the faulty equipment to be repaired so that production is not disrupted or calls out Standby.
    • Carries out testing of feedback samples
    • Trains staff with regard to the Lims Computer system
    • Carries out regular spot checks on testing procedures
    • Supervises / instructs subordinates to report all results timeously to the relevant production personnel - highlighting any deviation from the specifications
    • Carries out trouble shooting exercises to identify quality problems such as high dirt count, low pulp brightness, etc
    • Carries out microscope fibre analysis to establish the proportion of short and long fibres in the process
    • Trains and access new staff competency level
    • Maintains the continuous operation of the Lab Lims. Trouble shooting and rectifying faults on the above system or calls out the Technical Dept. IS standby
    • Ensures that QC records and archive samples are kept in accordance with the specified procedure laid down by ISO 9001
    • Checks and rectifies the Daily Reports before distribution for the morning meetings
    • Carries out all re-tests of non-conforming products (failures according to Specs)
    • Responsible for the final product grading of both of all final products produced.
    • Supervises staff
    • Carries out 4 hourly pulp evaluation, determines conformance to specification and reports accordingly for Merebank Mill pulp dispatch purpose
    • Responsible for job observations and ensures that safety is adhered to at all times
    • Responsible for conducting Mission Direct Work (MDW) sessions on a daily basis
    • Assisting with Slabs when required
    • Carries out any reasonable duties as requested

    Your profile:

    • Matric with Maths and Science 
    • National Diploma in Pulp and Paper or relevant tertiary qualification 
    • 3 to 5 years of experience in Quality Control

    Systems and Compliance Manager

    Your mission:

    • Develop and manage the strategy for maintenance systems for the mill, supporting Engineering, CMS & Reliability departments.
    • Maintains the CMMS PM Master Data to mill standard.
    • Development of standard engineering and maintenance reports as per the requirements of the departments concerned.
    • Development and maintenance of Engineering & maintenance KPI system, including the corresponding KPI reporting.
    • Acts as the interface between IT and the mill engineering / maintenance departments in terms of development of associated systems and platforms.
    • Responsible for the implementation of best practice and latest technology for maintenance systems (for example, AI, Industry 4.0 elements, etc.).
    • Support Engineering and maintenance departments with platforms for effective process management.
    • Support reliability engineering and condition-based monitoring departments on platforms for data management and analysis.
    • Management of statutory reporting systems.
    • Management of statutory documentation and the validity thereof.
    • Can interpret statutory inspection documentation and make good judgement as to the integrity and quality thereof.
    • MERL:
    • Audit the items on each business units’ risk list. 
    • Escalate non-compliances to management for further actioning.
    • Mondi Risk Evaluation System (MORES)
    • Facilitate the capturing of CF/CS/THE in the MORES system in conjunction with business stakeholders.
    • Audit the data in the MORES system and ensure that data is accurate and workflows correctly; correct data that has been incorrectly captured and coach users accordingly.
    • Loss Prevention:
    • Facilitate site inspections with Mondi’s appointed risk engineers.
    • Develop the technical solutions and plan their execution.
    • Report on the loss prevention action progress

    Your profile:

    • Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or equivalent 
    • GCC Factories will be advantageous
    • Minimum 5 years maintenance experience in heavy engineering industry
    • Strong knowledge of Technical Risk Management
    • Good knowledge of SAP as a CMMS.
    • Good knowledge on IT systems & platforms, specifically those related to maintenance and asset management.
    • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) would be advantageous
    • SAP – PM module working knowledge
    • Technical Change Management 
    • Must have experience in the management of complex projects 
    • Sound Knowledge of the OHS ACT and Regulations
