    Purpose of the position:

    • The purpose of this job is to facilitate multi-session evidence based structural programmes and conduct risk reduction to vulnerable AGYW to provide information and promote positive behaviour change in a safe space.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 certificate
    • Accredited / recognised 10 days counselling certificate
    • Facilitation training and beneficiary of PPPrev Programme would be an advantage
    • One-year facilitation experience working in the community
    • Computer literate in MS office
    • Proficiency in English and isiZulu languages
    • Valid Code 08 driver’s licence and own transport
    • Knowledge of the district health system, including structures like District AIDS Council, Local AIDS Council and war rooms

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Identify safe spaces in the community where structural programmes can be conducted
    • Conduct vulnerability pre-screening and identify the vulnerable girls to participate in structural sessions
    • Provide multi session structural programmes
    • Conduct online comprehensive risk reduction assessment
    • Ensure layering between structural programmes and behavioural and biomedical services
    • Support structural program coordinators (SPC) with mapping out of the communities, schools and institutions of higher learning with burden of disease
    • Lobbies and advocates for youth in relation to HIV, gender and related issues
    • Develop a work plan for the upcoming months
    • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings
    • Attends training and workshops as part of staff development
    • Networks with all relevant stakeholders and implements an effective referral system to ensure effective service delivery
    • Complete pre-screening vulnerability form for each beneficiary
    • Assist beneficiaries to complete all the fields in the register including SA ID and other PEPFAR UID related fields as well as the Zimisele card number upon graduation.
    • Enter each beneficiary LIVE on the CommCare Zimisele App upon issuing the Zimisele card during graduation
    • Records and maintains accurate and detailed information and keeps statistics in order to submit as required
    • Ensure compliance to POPIA
    • Submits weekly/ monthly reports to the supervisor

    HAST Counsellor (PPPrev Programme) - eThekwini

    Purpose of the position:  

    • To conduct provide health education and promotion sessions, readiness assessments for PrEP, pre-test, post-test, supportive and adherence counselling services. To support the effective implementation of case management. 

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Grade 12 
    • Valid 10-day HIV AIDS counselling certificate(from recognised service provider)
    • Certified to conduct finger prick testing
    • Two years’ driving experience as well as working in HIV and TB programmes
    • Proficiency in English and isiZulu languages
    • Driver’s license will be an advantage 

    Duties and Responsibilities    

    • Conduct quality HIV counselling and testing  
    • Encourage and support disclosure of relevant information
    • Conduct individual and group health education using the teaching aides provided   
    • Assess the service users’ readiness to start PrEP 
    • Promote correct and consistent condom use
    • Keep abreast of the latest developments in HIV/AIDS/TB/STI prevention
    • Record all activities on Comm Care or paper-based tools
    • Screen service users for COVID-19, tuberculosis, and sexually transmitted infections.
    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and maintain a high standard of professionalism in all interactions.
    • Refer service users to the Nurse Clinician or Enrolled Nurses for further tests where necessary
    • Comply with relevant legislation and organizational policies and procedures
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor Demonstrate empathy and a non-judgmental attitude toward service users

    IT Officer - Cape Town

    Purpose of the position:

    • Responsible for ensuring that all IT facilities associated with the installation are operational in accordance with service level requirements. This role involves coordinating and managing daily IT operations, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing solutions to enhance the overall IT infrastructure. Plans and supervises all IT installation and maintenance, adhering to good IT corporate governance.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, BCom (Information Systems) or equivalent
    • ITIL Foundation Certified
    • 3-5 years experience supporting IT services to large organisations
    • Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite of services
    • Technical expertise regarding networks and IT devices
    • Experienced in IT governance and risk
    • Experienced in cyber and information security
    • Clear criminal record

    Duties and Responsibilities    
    Strategy Planning and Execution

    • Assists in the implementation of the IT strategy, projects, and initiatives.
    • Assist in the design and maintenance standards of all IT Infrastructure Systems (LANs, WANs, internet, intranet, wireless implementations) and End User Hardware (Desktops, Laptops, Printers etc.) and related desktop software (operating systems, office productivity applications, etc.)
    • Assist with the security of all corporate systems and databases, ensuring that user access is restricted when necessary and that access to information is controlled

    Operational Planning and Management

    • Manage the IT team to ensure effective desktop and network support to the organisation
    • Ensure there is adequate infrastructure management
    • Test and validate new processes, policies and procedures for end-user computing environment (services and support)
    • Act as an escalation point between the IT Team and IT Manager for problem resolution, change requests and complaints handling
    • Contribute to the backup and disaster recovery plan and help to ensure that the business can facilitate business continuity
    • Incorporation of best practices regarding documentation, monitoring, administration, and data management
    • Maintenance, reporting and evaluation of all infrastructure systems, including server hardware, Microsoft implementations and standardization

    Stakeholder Management

    • Maintains and build relationships with internal stakeholders (programme staff, other support units, field staff)
    • Maintains and build relationships with external stakeholders (service providers)

    People Management

    • Ensure timeous and competent recruitment and adequate training of team members
    • Ensure high level plans are communicated and assigned to team members, with appropriate follow up
