Job description

A leading Imports Business seeks a delivery focussed and influential Logistics Operations Manager to take overall responsibility for all operational and service delivery aspects of the division.

You will be responsible for:

• Provide guidance for logistics processes required to ensure delivery of service to clients in terms of SLA’s
• Manage team of logistics controllers to ensure timeous delivery and accuracy of data relating to the account
• Ensure daily monitoring of system and reporting tools to manage exceptions accordingly
• Manage staff outputs while ensuring staff are properly trained, supported and motivated
• Continuous assessment of operational and resource requirements and ensuring that sufficient resources are in place to meet operational requirements
• Attend meetings at client premises when required
• Drive supply chain projects where required at the client, often necessitating engagement with third parties
• Utilizing data results to present opportunities to clients to improve processes
• Hold accountability for logging and following up of tickets with IT department
• Provide weekly operations update for key areas and requirements of the business unit
• Regular contact with Head of Corporate Accounts to ensure service delivery is up to standard
• Set up and drive weekly internal review meetings
