Job description
Role overview
The Proposal Development Manager is part of the Global Bid Development Team and is charged with providing leadership to diverse international proposal bid teams which includes: pulling together bid materials (proposals, presentations and concept notes), design and lead on proposal development workshops to design and validate consortia/bid team inputs, provide high quality proposal review to other proposals and support capacity building and training of country office teams and local partners on proposal development. The role supports different geographic and thematic areas of work and requires frequent travel.
Please note this role can be based in either South Africa or Nairobi.
Skills, qualifications and experience
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, passionate about social justice and inclusive development, knows how to be creative and persistent to achieve results, demonstrates consistent leadership and can work independently in a variety of changing circumstances. The ideal candidate has experience of living and working in developing countries, has strong writing skills and will bring a well-established track record of developing winning funding proposals to donors such as USAID, EC, UKAID, SIDA and UN Agencies. Candidates should enjoy extensive travel and working with diverse and geographic dispersed colleagues.
