    Town Planner

    Job description

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support in statutory and strategic planning functions in Gauteng but also in adjacent provinces
    • Assist with the preparation and approval of land use applications
    • Undertakes tasks to more complex technical planning and development planning application assessments
    • Undertake the evaluation of non-statutory development proposals
    • Assist with community and advocacy planning

    Essential Requirements

    • A four year Bachelor degree, or similar degree in Town & Regional Planning
    • Eligible to register as a Candidate Planner
    • Valid Motor Vehicle Licence
    • 2 years post-graduation experience
    • Computer Literacy

    Preferred Requirements

    • Good understanding of the following legislation:
      • the Land Reform (Labour Tenants) Act
      • Communal Properties Association Act
      • Provision of Land Assistance Act
      • Spatial Planning and Land Use Management Act
    • Experience with stakeholder engagement and stakeholder workshops
    • Language proficiency in isiZulu/Tsonga/Sepedi
