Cool projects in 2017:

• Integration with cloud accounting software APIs like SAGE, Xero
• Creation of an Ionic 2 hybrid mobile app
• Automating our deployment process on AWS
• Deploying ElasticSearch and IBM Watson to assist our helpdesk
• Big data analytics, clustering and data mining
• Connecting to Facebook's Messenger API

Core job functions:

• Research, plan, design and code new functionality utilizing PHP/MySQL, with HTML/CSS and JS
• Track, split test, improve and upgrade existing functionality
• Assist with legacy code migration toward Symfony
• Utilize OOP whilst also implementing principles such as SOLID, DRY and KISS
• Build custom integrations and corporate APIs for data import/export
• Debug, monitor, patch and implement best practices for system stability
• Work closely with our CTO Evan and John aka Odin

Requirements:

• Min 3 years working experience with PHP and MySQL
• Can code raw javascript (not reliant on jQuery / other)
• Experience with PHP frameworks (Symfony preferable), AWS, Ionic, responsive CSS is a plus
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Linux, Git
• A creative problem solver, that's willing to explore, with a collaborative, open source type mindset
