Key Responsibility Areas:

• Assist in the formulation of business continuity strategies and initiatives for the Municipality and assures their alignment with Business Continuity Policies and Corporate initiatives.
• Facilitate and manage the overall coordination for planning, priority setting and implementation for business continuity initiatives.
• Support and assist in the development of Business Continuity plans and goals.
• Provide advice to business on the management of business continuity risk.
• Coordinate the development, review, maintenance and testing of the Business Continuity Plans across the Municipality.
• Coordinate processes to align cross-business directorate interdependencies and facilitate cross- business recovery and restoration.
• Coordinate functions of the eThekwini Municipality Crisis Management Team and /or any associated structure created to ensure continuity of municipal activities.
• Prepare Business Continuity reports for submission to senior management and to the business directorates.
• Design, coordinate and conducts Business Continuity exercises.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree (NQF Level 7) in Risk Management or Disaster Management or Information & Communication Technology (ICT) or any other related and equivalent qualification.
• Valid motor vehicle driving license.
• 4 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements:

• Post graduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in Business Continuity Management or Risk Management or Disaster Management or Information & Communication Technology (ICT) or any other related and equivalent qualification
• ISO 22301 Certificate or Certificate of the Business Continuity Institute (CBCI).
• 5 Years relevant experience.
