    Team leader - Patch Management

    Job description

    Overview

    Supervises a large team in a process-driven environment in order to ensure operational delivery on a day-to-day basis. Role holders will ensure that the work is completed within agreed deadlines, timescales and to agreed standards, using the most appropriate systems, processes and procedures.

    Service Management

    • Work with set objectives in order to deliver the operation within the Computacenter framework standards, cost and time.
    • Acts within general management direction.
    • Ensures the accurate measurement and the achievement of customer SLA’s and KPA’s.

    People Management

    • Coordinate and supervise the daily activities of clerical/administrative and/or operational/technical team members in similar or related disciplines.
    • Allocate workload on a day to day basis to ensure the delivery of objectives in the most efficient ways
    • Monitor staffing levels to ensure that objectives can be met.
    • Responsible for interview and hiring process for new recruits
    • Responsible for performance management and discipline within own work area and provides input to the salary review
    • Provide training for new staff and trainees in systems, processes and procedures.
    • Provide support and back-up to those within the team to motivate and encourage high performance from staff.

    Customer Management

    • Full understanding of client delivery objectives.
    • Proactively act to understand client needs and identify solutions to non-standard tasks and queries; actively seeking business opportunities.
    • Responsible for resolving broad ranging client issues that extend beyond short-term technical issues.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with customers in order to ensure effective delivery of service requirements.
    • Process Management & Improvement
    • Work within the Computacenter framework so as to ensure consistency and co-ordination across the business.
    • Monitor progress and refers upwards if remedial action is required to ensure achievement of objectives.

    Requirements

    • Essential Skills and qualifications
    • At least 5 years IT experience
    • At least 2 years leadership/management exposure & experience
    • Extensive server and desktop support and troubleshooting
    • National diploma in Information Technology (or equivalent)
    • ITIL Foundation certification

    Desirable Skills and qualifications

    • Experience and certification in Windows Server (MCSE or equivalent), SCCM, WSUS, Bladelogic, Citrix, VMware
