Finance Manager (IT & IT Projects) at JSE

Job Description

The purpose of this job is to lead the Commercial Finance Financial Planning and Analysis team in preparing and distributing accurate, relevant financial management information and perform foreseeable needs analysis for internal clients on a continued basis in achievement of JSE strategic financial targets.

Qualification and Experience Required:

• CA (SA) qualification
• Min 5 years post qualification Financial Management experience
• At least 2 years Financial Management service to the IT Dept / Division

Responsibilities:

• In partnership with the CIO and the Information Technology Division (ITD) management team, develop a long term plan for IT capital investments and operating expenses in support of the JSE business and IT strategy.
• Translate this strategy into annual operating and capital budgets.
• Provides ongoing financial management for the IT organization covering capital, operational and project expenditure.
• Ensure accuracy of financial processing across all relevant departmental and project cost centres in terms of budgets, forecasts and actuals.
• In conjunction with the IT management team analyses and prepares IT budgets as well as monthly forecasts.
• Ensure effectiveness and efficiency of IT finance processes with clear accountabilities and responsibilities of stakeholders.
• Drive process improvements as required.
• Ensure actual expenditure aligns closely with forecasts and that all deviations are expected and justifiable by budget owners.
• Ensure provision of accurate financial statements for IT management team such as monthly budgets, forecasts and summary reports.
• Ensure appropriate and accurate processing of invoices against planned expenditure and drive budget owners accountability for ensuring vendors invoice in a timely manner.
• Develop IT financial metrics consistent with relevant industry benchmarks provide ongoing reporting in conjunction with IT governance function to ensure continuous costs focus.
• Conduct necessary financial analysis as required to support business strategies and operational objectives.
• Assist in developing IT, finance and business case presentations and related supporting materials.
• Work with IT and business teams to review business cases for IT capital projects.
• Develop IT servicebased costing model in order to drive IT financial transparency.
• Develop and manage the IT show back / chargeback allocation methodology and analyse variances.
• In collaboration with JSE procurement, contribute to IT vendor management with particular emphasis on the financial aspects of agreements.
• Work closely with the ITD management team to improve company return on invested capital.
