    HR Consultant

    Job description

    We are currently looking for a Human Resources Consultant to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

    As an HR Consultant in the Internet Solutions Enterprise segment team you will:

    • Support the Enterprise segment in realising its strategic objectives by providing an integrated human resource service to the business. This involves the execution of HR strategy (aligned to the business strategy) across a wide range of human resource practises within the Enterprise team.
    • It also involves coordination with the HR functions in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana and Mozambique to ensure that the HR practices and policies of the Enterprise Segment as appropriate are implemented effectively in those countries.
    • HR Operations & Fundamentals (Governance and Compliance)
    • Liaise with IS HR Central to ensure that all HR Operations, fundamentals, processes and procedures that are required to operate successfully as HR for the IS Enterprise Segment are in place, working and being used appropriately. These would include:
    • Support regional HR reps in standardising, implementing and using key policies in the regions that they operate in (currently South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Mozambique and Kenya).
    • Performance Management
    • They have specific knowledge of the Internet Solutions performance management process and are able to train new employees on the system to support this process. They provide on-going line management support around KPI management and measurement.
    • Recruitment and On-Boarding
    • The HR Consultant works with the line managers, IS HR Central and Talent Source to attract and select the right people into the organisation. They ensure that new hires are optimally on-boarded into the organisation and that all appointments, transfers and promotion practices comply with the company policies and procedures and labour legislation.
    • Career Management
    • This position works closely with IS central HR, Learning & Development and Sales Operations to advise on learning interventions as required by the EBU segment. They work closely with line managers to understand training and personal development needs in the business. They provide career development guidance and assistance to employees and
    • HR Reporting
    • Coordination of monthly reporting on HR and Learning and development metrics and regional business overviews.
    • Employee and labour Relations
    • This employee works with IS HR Central and the business line managers to ensure compliance to legislation relevant to employee relations in a specific geographic region or business group.

    Here’s what we are looking for in candidates for this job:

    Key requirements:

    • Relevant Degree- B Com Industrial Psychology or HR Management
    • Industrial Psychology Honours will be an advantage
    • 5-8 years’ experience in HR with at least 3 years as at HR Manager level
    • OD skills
    • Proven facilitation skills
    • Experience in Mozambique, Kenya, Nigeria and Ghana will be a distinct advantage
    • Proven effective recruitment skills
    • Project Management skills
    • Change management skills
    • Good business acumen
    • Sound knowledge, understanding and application of Labour Legislation(BCEA, EE Act, OHSA)
    • Proven track record of successful HR Management and business partnering with business
