    Postilion Operations Manager

    Job Description

    This purpose of this position is to effectively manage the Postilion Real-time switch, PostOffice system and other related systems, servers and appliances.

    Over and above the “business as usual” processing operations, this position will oversee the implementation of new products and processing requirements as well as work closely with business to improve the customer experience on any of Paycorp’s transaction channels.

    The responsibilities of the position include:

    Postilion Team

    • Providing technical guidance around the Postilion system
    • Providing technical guidance around the PostOffice system
    • Providing guidance around associated payment devices (i.e. HSMs)
    • Leading a team that improves general Postilion availability
    • Leading a team that improves transaction throughput and success rates
    • Ensuring compliance and adherence to PCI-DSS requirements
    • Respond to and resolve incidents and problems timeously
    • Prevent recurring incidents
    • Ensure that correct monitoring levels are in place and actively monitored
    • Identify and run proactive projects to improve the overall team

    Broader IT Team

    • Interacting with full IT team to deliver quality service and solutions to business and customers
    • Providing technical guidance, input and architecture around Postilion & PostOffice system
    • Actively contribute to the success of the team and promote “new ways of work” e.g. DevOps, Agile, etc.
    • Assisting and growing IT to become a strategic partner and enabler to business

    Business Optimisation

    • Working with relevant Business and IT teams to improve customer experience and channel availability
    • Working with business, banking partners and card associations to improve transaction throughput and success rates
    • Design and implementation of additional revenue driving products and transaction types in conjunction with business

    Effective People Management

    • Ensure that all roles and responsibilities are clear and that the resources are aligned with business requirements and strategy
    • Develop effective practices for career development and performance management
    • Managing Standby resources, activities and rostering

    Process Optimisation

    • Manage the capacity of the Postilion Team
    • Manage the capacity of the Postilion and PostOffice systems
    • Manage and implement the correct patches following the appropriate patch management methodologies without placing the organization at risk
    • Ensure that all events are effectively monitored, managed and communicated

    Documentation

    • Keep system documentation up to date and current including all changes (centralised on Confluence)
    • Update the operational run books for each system
    • Capture changes timeously and with the correct level of detail, urgency and care.
    • Monthly reporting and data collation on system and team performance.

    General

    • Liaise with external partners (banks, telco’s etc.) in assisting with new projects / implementations.
    • Liase with external partners driving incidents until resolution (key is to be proactively reducing the mean Time to Repair)
    • Communicating with Group CIO on a regular basis
    • Communicating with users and general business with regards to incidents and problems
    • Finding innovative ways to improve the current ways of working
    • Finding solutions to improve cardholder experience and transaction success rates
    • General understanding of cryptography and security
    • General understanding of Electronic Funds Transfer mechanisms

    In order to be considered for the position, the following requirements must be met:

    • BTech IT or relevant B. degree with an IT focus
    • Performing a Technical management function including managing a team
    • Min 5 years’ experience in running a Postilion Real-Time Switch or similar processing software (e.g. Base24, CR2, BPC, etc.) - preferably with a mixture of ATM and POS experience
    • Min 3 years’ experience in running Postilion Office or similar back-office system
