    Sales Operations Specialist

    • We are currently looking for a Sales Operations Specialist: Sales Talent Management to support the business in achieving its strategic objectives.

    The Sales Operations Specialist: Sales Talent Management supports the Sales Organisation through the execution of the sales talent and development strategy to:

    • Enhance sales performance and client experience,
    • Drive the efficiency and effectiveness of sales development and talent programmes/initiatives,
    • Introduce industry best practice, and
    • Ensure continuous sales performance improvement via coaching to ensure retention and application of new skills is attained.


    The Sales Operations Specialist: Sales Talent Management understands the key sales knowledge and skills gaps of the sales force, and acts as a subject matter expert when identifying the relevant programmes or initiatives to address the skills gaps or talent management requirements.

    In this capacity you will be required to work with and through the Sales leadership and managers across the Dimension Data Brands, Sales Operations and Human Resources (Learning and Development, and Operations) both at a MEA and Global level. You will be required to ensure that the development and talent programmes are targeted to meet the needs of the Sales Organisation, are aligned to the Sales Operational processes and embedded into daily workflow.

    What we expect you to do

    Operating at a Dimension Data MEA level and reporting to the MEA General Manager: Sales Operations, you will need to deliver on the following:

    • Sales development needs analysis: Engage with Sales leadership and managers to determine the development needs of the Client Managers, Sales Specialists and Sales Managers using the L&D learning architecture model.
    • Develop the capability of the sales employees: Use the analysis output to recommend a skills development plan for the Sales Organisation (Across the Client Manager and Sales Specialist job families) to close the development gaps, improve sales performance and build effective sales capability. This will require a good understanding of Dimension Data’s Organisational and Sales strategy, service and technology offerings, industry best practice and existing non-negotiable development programmes and initiatives.
    • Provide recommendations to enhance the Sales Talent Framework: Always look for areas of improvement to ensure the Sales Talent Framework remains relevant to the MEA and Sales Strategy and requirements of the business.
    • Put in place a robust sales induction and on-boarding experience (Managers and Sales Employees): Develop and implement a robust, practical and effective sales induction and on-boarding curriculum for new Sales Managers and sales employees (incl. existing Dimension Data employees transferring into the MEA Sales Organisation). Work closely with Sales managers and leadership across territories and Brands, Sales Operations, MEA and Global HR to ensure alignment across all programmes.
    • Develop, execute and manage a robust Sales Graduate Rotation plan and second year business integration plan: Ensure the various development plans build the necessary capability to
    • Identify, engage and retain key sales talent and ensure a continuous talent succession pool: Work with the Sales leadership and managers, and relevant MEA & Global HR teams to identify and track key sales talent within the Sales Organisation, with a view to introduce and execute relevant succession planning, recognition, engagement and development initiatives.
    • Global sales talent and development programme execution within Region: Responsible for executing Global sales talent and development programmes within Region, where it makes sense, including the Dimension Data Sales Academy. Be responsible for:
    • Communication to relevant stakeholders,
    • Overall project ownership (end-to-end deployment) within region which includes the management of relevant virtual project team members, and deployment of the project,
    • Provide feedback to all key stakeholders and Executives (where required), and
    • Reporting.
    • Enhance the Sales recruitment, assessment and selection process: Work with Sales leadership and managers, and relevant MEA & Global HR teams to ensure that all recruitment, assessment and selection processes and tools are aligned to the functional and behavioural competencies required for each identified job role in the Sales Organisation.
    • Analytics, reporting and trend tracking: Use talent and development data for analysis and trend establishment to provide meaningful business insight, recommend development and talent initiative improvements, and provide visibility of the Sales talent portfolio progress to the business. Contribute to the monthly and annual BBBEE skills development compliance reporting submission.
    • Development and talent programme/initiative co-ordination: Manage the scheduling and co-ordination of development and talent programmes, track all costs and ensure adherence to the annual sales development and talent budgets. Liaise with vendors and partners to ensure the efficient scheduling of all programmes.
    • Development programme/initiative effectiveness and improvement: Once a development programme or initiative has been implemented, evaluate its effectiveness by soliciting feedback from the course or initiative participants. Analyse the information to determine and recommend areas for improvement to the programme or initiative.
    • Technology and systems: Responsible for the adoption and active use of the DDU (Sales Academy), Serendipity, and other relevant learning systems, inclusive of own understanding of the systems, and training of users to ensure optimal usage of the systems. Maintain and update the Talent and Development content and links on the Sales Portal.
    • Vendor Engagement and Management: Engage with preferred vendors that deliver the particular programme/initiative services, and manage and maintain these relationships, holding the vendors honest and responsible for high delivery standards and quality output.
    • Develop and execute an integrated Sales Talent Management Plan: Once you have gained a thorough understanding of the Sales Organisation and industry best practice, you will be required to develop an integrated sales talent management and development plan that aligns to the execution of the MEA and Sales Strategy, drives continued improvement of the Sales Talent Management and Development Portfolio, and embeds best practice.

    • As a corporate citizen, the Sales Operations Specialist: Sales Talent Management can work effectively in teams and manage their assigned work processes.
    • You will contribute ideas to the improvement of internal processes and continuously improve your own competence levels by displaying a learning orientation.
    • You are required to take accountability and ownership for your area, have a passion for the execution and achievement of deliverables, and display good project management skills.
    • You will demonstrate good attention to detail with proven ability to meet challenging deadlines, and be proactive in your approach to work assignments.

    Experience

    • Diploma/Degree HR, Management / Business or relevant qualification preferred.
    • 5+ years’ work experience, with at least 2 years in a relevant role/field.
    • Proven ability to effectively develop and manage programmes/initiatives in the talent management/HR/learning and development field will be an advantage.
    • Demonstrated problem analysis and solution formulation skills.
    • Display knowledge of Industry best practice relevant to talent management and development.
    • Comfortable working with high levels of change and very tight deadlines.
    • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
    • Ability to interact and converse effectively across various seniority levels within an organisation.
    • Maintain high integrity and display reliability for delivering against agreed objectives within deadline.
    • Demonstrated service orientation and good interpersonal skills.
    • MS Office – very proficient skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
