This world class Gauteng based provider of mechanical solutions to the power and petrochemical sector specialising in mechanical, piping and high specification fabricated turnkey and EPC projects. The Role

This is a senior project manager role and requires a strong well rounded individual exhibiting construction management, commercial and financial acumen with ability to accurately report to high level stakeholders regarding project progress and cost. An integral part of this role will be your grasp of project reporting and ensuring correct feedback loops are adhered to locally and internationaly.

• You will be responsible managing this complex site, you will be responsible for ensuring project milestones are met in an effective and safe manner ensuring the commercial and contractual interests of the project are looked after. In conjunction with the contracts engineer you will ensure that delay events and variation orders are effectively dealt with and the claims process is effectively managed
• Manage the project budget and schedule establishing original baseline estimates and establishing performance management systems
• Manage the relationship between the various stakeholders including the client, the contractors and the company itself
• Manage the multi-disciplinary construction and projects team ensuring efficient progress on a safe site
• Manage the project staffing with authority to appoint and veto project staff appointments

The Right Candidate

You will need a mechanical qualification with extensive experience managing successful projects ranging from midsize to large, experience with structural, mechanical and piping projects will be invaluable and ideally you will have completed your PMP training. Exposure to commercial contracts will reinforce your application and ideally you will have overseen Fidic or NEC form contracts on previous projects depending on wether you join the Secunda or Kusile sites; this role is only open to South African citizens.

Remuneration

Is negotiable and will reflect the senior nature of the role.
