    Business Development Manager

    Job description

    Job Purpose

    The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying target accounts, developing a pipeline and maximizing revenue by closing key deals around BroadReach’s new solutions. S/he will work alongside BroadReach’s global business development, Client Delivery and field based-project teams to accelerate the sales of Vantage, BroadReach’s cloud-based data analytics platform.

    Key measurable outputs of the position include:

    • Drive new Business Identification
    • Develop and implement engagement strategies aligned with target market segments and close sales opportunities
    • Maintain and deepen client relationships at the appropriate level and foster long-term client interest.
    • Meet and exceed assigned revenue quotas
    • Understand BroadReach solutions and its competitors, and bring energy and conviction to customer conversations

    Qualifications and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science, Business related course of study, or International Development)
    • Master’s Degree (Computer Science, Business related course of study, or International Development) preferable
    • Minimum of seven years of relevant business development, sales and marketing experience in management consulting, business, healthcare management, international development of which 3-5 years’ experience in a client service environment.
    • Proven track record in consistent revenue attainment selling software services/or winning publicly funded international development business over four or more quarters
    • Established contacts; rolodex and knowledge of USAID/SA, CDC and other public and private funders in international development business
    • Working knowledge of public and private opportunities in international development
    • Formal Sales training and proven proficiency in implementing sales experience and/or experience managing public bids, including to USAID, CDC, Gates Foundation and others
    • Experience with European based organizations and grant schemes such as EUAID, GIZ, EU Horizon

    Technical Knowledge and Skills Required

    • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    • Ability to express ideas by means of clear and effective writing, in order to support professional communication internally within BroadReach and externally.
    • Ability to identify key information, present and communicate it in a meaningful and relevant way to the media and /or key public.
    • Ability to converse comfortably at an executive level when discussing the business impact BroadReach solutions.
    • Strong business and financial acumen
    • Ability to proactively identify business opportunities or barriers to business performance and addresses them.
    • Ability to takes accountability for improving the business.
    • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency around the achievement of stretching business goals. Excellent customer focus, strong attention to detail and ability to operate in a dynamic sales organization
    • Ability to initiate and organize work, to establish priorities in a time-sensitive environment, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality
    • Ability to retain existing customers or clients; diagnose their needs and present product feature and benefits to retain their business.
    • Ability to operate with ahigh degree of energy, self-motivation, and resourcefulness
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Ability to build professional working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, displaying sound abilities to listen, advise, influence, negotiate and present at all levels
    • Direct selling expertise, hunter mentality​​

    • Ability to represent BRHC as a brand ambassador by upholding the corporate identity and maintaining a professional approach to the presentation of work, including written, visual or interactive
    • Understand the broad data analytics environment, along with standard development work
