Job description

Mission of Technical Category Manager:

To participate to the elaboration of the category strategy of the zone, to coordinate the technical activities for the category (Beverage, Sweet Goods and Savory) and to provide the best technical support to clients and different internal partners in cluster and zone.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop new foods/beverages formulations based on industrial standards and country specific requirements
• To manage all the brief/project of the cluster.
• Select and evaluate the right flavor solution in compliance with legal, costs, clients & applications requirements
• Ensure to have the right flavor solutions for the category
• Address future technical category needs
• Understand the commercial needs for the category/market
• Be the technical contact/support for the key category customers/markets in cluster
• Prepare and lead external/internal workshops/trainings in cluster
• Visit clients and affiliates on need basis
• Promote teamwork amongst departments to meet customer needs
• Secure and lead the category strategy zone Europe together with the marketing category manager: participate in country business reviews, drive the promotion pipeline, prepare the quarterly category reviews (sales, vitality, products review, set up and implementation of action plans)
• Foster synergies with other categories and leverage best practices
• Manage various administrative internal systems/tasks related to projects briefs and keep daily record on laboratory work and results
• Establish new protocols for use/stability of ingredients/flavors or laboratory equipment
• Respect good laboratory practices following established HSE rules

Profile

• Technical background in Food Science/Food Industry with at least 5 years of professional experience in a food or flavor industry, preferably in the category defined
• Pro-active, autonomous and able to take initiatives
• Capable of handling multiple projects in a methodical manner, within short deadlines;
• Accurate, rigorous and well organized
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking
• Willing to travel
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; enthusiastic, open-minded and good team player
• Fluent in English
• Any other language would be an asset
• Computer literate (MS Office)
