    Regional Channel Manager

    Job description

    Applications are invited for the above mentioned position to be based in Parow. This person will report to the Regional Trade Marketing Manager – Southern Region.

    Key Performance Areas would include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop regional initiatives, delivering on the regional trade channel plan and regional opportunities and challenges:
    • Develop regional initiatives to deliver on regional trade channel targets & opportunities, including: assets, cold space, regional key account campaigns, Influencer and nodal strategy, Regional brand activations, sales promotions and generic merch plans
    • Assist in joint business planning with select regional accounts
    • Develop regional insights across territories, channels, accounts, events and consumers; informing the plans, targeting and mechanics
    • Develop procurement catalogues for merchandising items the region regularly uses to speed up delivery and drive down cost
    • Drive the execution of the regional channel plan in line with channel guardrails and
    • Execution Standards
    • Develop all regional campaigns and initiatives including: Business cases, briefs, brand & channel sign off, SAP system set up, budget management, store list development
    • Create execution briefs for sales and 3rd party execution and tracking agencies; and drive execution of regional campaigns in line with brand and channel execution standards
    • Enable and assist the Regional Trade Marketing Administrator with procurement, financial processing, score carding, storelist mgt and SAP system maintenance on regional campaigns (Accountability is RCM, responsibility is RTMA)
    • Review and monitor regional performance, regional campaign compliance, regional campaign ROI, regional Assets, Regional contracts and accounts and course correct where required
    • Manage the year end merchandising close off and regional A&P and DVC budget in line with regional objectives
    • Develops Internal And External Relationships And Networks
    • Influence and ensure buy in of the regional channel initiatives with key internal stakeholders (brand and channel teams, regional account managers, TSM's)
    • Build networks and form strong relationships with important accounts and regional execution agencies
    • Continuously review regional insights and trade innovations
    • Create and test innovative campaign targeting strategies, campaign mechanic and generic merchandising solutions.
    • Provide guidance and champion relevant regional channel capabilities and thinking with key stakeholder work groups.
    • Champion channel and brand execution standards and coach teams to execute the standards
    • Drive you own development to ensure specialist knowledge/skills to remain world class

    The Successful Candidate Must Have The Following Experience/skills

    • Relevant Diploma/degree in marketing/ sales/retail/finance
    • A valid and unendorsed drivers licence
    • 3-5 years Sales/Marketing experience
    • Channel Marketing knowledge
    • Computer literate in MS Office (particularly Excel) - Project Package / SAP
    • Strong financial and analytical skills and business acumen
    • Understand principles of shopper, consumer, customer insights and Marketing concepts
    • Ability to work in cross functional groups within the business units
    • Knowledge of the On Con environment , the consumers and the landscape
    • Accountable for the development of all channel/ customer-based shopper research projects
    • Manage Channel Marketing’s interface with the Consumer and Customer insight teams
    • Good communication and negotiating skills
    • Willingness to work after hours
    • Work under pressure and with tight deadlines
    • Self starter / self motivator
    • Team player
