    Human Resources Generalist

    Job description

    ROLE DESCRIPTION:

    Sygnia Asset Management is looking to recruit a Human Resources Generalist to join its dynamic and rapidly growing Cape Town team.  The HR Generalist will be responsible for providing support in the various human resource functions, which functions include recruitment and other HR related duties

     DUTIES AND DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • To ensure that effective and appropriate HR Policies and Procedures are in place which meet legal requirements, best practice and organisational objectives
    • To ensure that managers and their employees receive effective and appropriate advice and support on the implementation and interpretation of HR policies and procedures
    • To continually review and monitor progress against the HR objectives and ensure that employees and resources are appropriately allocated and utilised
    • To develop mechanisms to monitor the effectiveness of HR and produce regular reports on key HR performance indicators to ensure service delivery is consistent and in line with agreed standards
    • Coordinating recruitment and selection processes to ensure a timely, organised and comprehensive procedure is used to hire staff
    • Prepare performance assessment sheets and summary reports
    • Ensure reward practices, talent management and promotion procedures are implemented and monitored
    • Ensure that management acquires basic management skills on recruitment of talent, industrial relations and performance management
    • Compile all data needed for the annual salary review including the annual performance appraisal analysis
    • Coordinate induction of new employees and other HR related training
    • Ad hoc duties as required

    ROLE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    • 3 years’ experience in a generalist or Senior Human Resources role
    • Experience of project management from concept to sign off
    • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources qualification
    • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
