    (809) Lead - Quality Assurance and Professional Practices - IAD

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Develop and embed a QAIP strategy as mandated by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standard 1300 and provide timely assurance on the QAIP monitoring results to the IA function.
    • Provide advice on emerging risks, themes and strategic opportunities relevant to quality assurance, improvement themes and professional practice matters.
    • Create, implement and continuously improve a QAIP, including detailed initiatives and plans to ensure IA remains at the forefront of the industry and conforms to the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF) and related IIA Standards.
    • Develop, implement and continuously improve IA methodology to ensure that the IAD meets industry and regulatory standards and is effectively embedded across the function.
    • Manage the performance and development of the QAIP team to sustain IA’s reputation, capability and independence within the South African Reserve Bank (SARB).
    • Work with training teams to ensure timely remediation and continuous improvement of IA quality matters.
    • Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with key stakeholders, including external auditors during external reviews.
    • Review the outcomes of the IA skills assessment and ensure that relevant training and upskilling initiatives are available to build the required skills and capability.
    • Guide audit teams on the practical application and implementation of IA methodology principles.
    • Provide regular methodology training and updates to IA auditors, including new recruits.

    Qualifications

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a minimum of an Honours degree (NQF 8) in Internal Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management or Information Systems;
    • a Chartered Accountant (CA (SA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification; and
    • a minimum of 8 to 10 years’ experience within an auditing environment with quality assurance experience.
