    Head Of Operations

    Job description

    Key Responsibilities:

    OPCO ROLE

    • Contribute to formulation of company strategy
    • Take ownership of company values and objectives at operations level
    • Implement the business strategic initiatives within the operations division at Corporate Office
    • Contribute to general success and profitability of Sanlam Private Wealth
    • Represent Sanlam Private Wealth as and when required in accordance with company profile to all relevant stakeholders

    MANAGEMENT ROLE

    • Manage day to day running of client administration, settlements, tax and offshore operations
    • Manage operational and risk processes
    • Custody of assets and settlement of trades
    • Managing of budget, control all costs by managing Service Level Agreements with suppliers
    • People Management including up-skilling of Operations team
    • Risk and Compliance Monitoring by ensuring employees who trade adhere to the company and JSE rules and other relevant legislation.
    • Answer operational and administrative enquiries from clients; deal with all queries from clients and ensure timeous reporting to compliance officer and or branches

    Minimum Requirements:

    • CA or Bcom degree and having obtained an MBA will be advantageous
    • 3-5 years’ experience within Finance, Operations
    • or Information Technology within Financial Services
    • and minimum 5 years’ experience at a
    • Senior Management level
    • Knowledge of, and experience within, a private client wealth management environment will be an advantage
    • Good understanding of regulatory requirements within Financial Services

    Technical Competencies:

    • Proven knowledge and understanding of financial markets
    • Knowledge of Operations within Private Wealth Client environment
    • Computer literacy
    • Exposure to IT implementation and business analysis to improve client service, administration and reporting

    Behavioral Competencies:

    • Leadership, networking and influencing capability
    • Strong implementation and project management skills to drive the SPW operations strategy
    • Strong organizational and planning skills
    • Proven conceptual and strategic abilities
    • Tenacity, strong conflict resolution skills and decisiveness
    • Passion for the stock-broking / private client / wealth management industry
    • Diligent with a meticulous work ethic
    • Personal drive to succeed
