Qualifications and experience required:

• An acceptable level of secondary education.
• Computer literacy – Office applications.
• A valid Code EB driver’s licence and PDP.
• Nine to twelve months’ relevant experience.

Key attributes and competencies:

• Attending to user needs/requirements and executing specific processes associated with processing of deliveries to ensure delivery information is captured and attended to in accordance with guidelines/instructions.
• Incumbent to be physically fit and able-bodied.
• Maintaining/arranging book stock, materials.

Administration skills.

• Providing training in basic general computer troubleshooting and problem resolution and printing of computer reports to library staff at all levels as required.
• The physical attributes associated with this post necessitate that the incumbent is physically fit and able-bodied to perform the relevant functions, and as such, shortlisted candidates will be required to submit themselves to the Municipal Medical Doctor to be medically examined as part of the selection process.

Job purpose:

• Performing specific activities associated with the provision of support by attending to routine deliveries of library material, processing of deliveries, and processing data onto the library computer system in order to ensure the laid down instructions and procedures are complied with, contributing to the accomplishment of Library Services delivery objectives.
• As part of the selection process, candidates may be tested on any requirement, skill or competency, which will include pre-employment screening, medical examination, security vetting and psychometric assessment.
