Application Analyst at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To devise and design computer systems requirements for the solution of difficult business problems or for segments of more complex problems and formulate procedures for their solutions as well as develops, implementation and maintenance of major systems.

This post reports to SUPERVISOR (APPLICATIONS ENGINEER)

Key Responsibility Areas    

•  Designs, builds and implements effective business solutions that support the business processes.
•  Prepares and maintains technical and operational system documentation.
•  Provides support for existing applications to ensure system stability and functionality.
•  Plans, allocates and controls tasks allocated by providing support to team members.
•  Trains systems owners/ users in application systems and processes.
•  Keeps abreast with changing technology to meet the business needs.
•  Liaises with users and suppliers to maintain a cooperative user relationship.

Essential Requirements    

•  Diploma (NQF Level 6) in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field.
•  Valid motor vehicle driving license.
•  3 Years relevant experience.

Preferred Requirements    

•  Bachelors Degree (NQF Level 7) in Computer Science.
•  Systems analysis and design certificate.
•  4 years exposure to change management, database management, networks and hardware, various operating systems platforms and Computer Assisted Software Engineering and Development tools.
