Area Manager - Area North and East at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• A relevant B Degree in the Social Sciences, Social Development fields or related field.
• Up to 8 years’ managerial experience within the social (and community) development environment
• Sound knowledge of legislation applicable to Local Government as well as Council policies, processes and procedures
• Ability to interface at political level
• Experience in project and performance management methodology
• Valid Code EB driver’s licence and own vehicle

Key Performance Areas
Leading, managing, coordinating and monitoring the financial and human resources of an Area to give effect to the social development of communities through relevant development services and programmes by:

• Conducting community profiling, ensuring community engagement and targeted interventions, programme planning, delivery and implementation at area level
• Facility management of ECD Centres, Arts and Culture facilities etc,
• Implementing of the ECD framework and ward allocation programmes
• Engaging with various stakeholders in the area to promote liaison and information sharing
• Managing the productivity and performance of human resources
• Controlling, managing and monitoring the allocation of funding and expenditure for the area
