    Area Manager

    • Our client, a well-established retail company based in Durban, is seeking an ambitious and driven Area Manager to join their dynamic retail team.

    Roles and responsibilities:

    • Administration of Stock Counts, including accurate and efficient Stock Counts with minimum disruptions to the Business.
    • Responsibility for Administration and Management of Staffing, including Stores Training & Development, Contracts, Terminations and Disciplinary processes.
    • Administration and Management of Stores, including Overtime management.
    • Strategic planning and implementation to identify, develop and maintain Stores that fall within your portfolio so that they trade profitably and within expectation. This includes the management of non-performing Stores as per instructions and guidance provided to you.
    • Responsibility for General Administration e.g. Administration for opening new Stores and closure of discontinued Stores, general Administration etc.
    • Strategic planning and implementation to identify and close out Risk and Safety areas of the Business.
    • Forward thinking to assist with development and growth of the Business.
    • Self-discipline, focus and planning to ensure duties are performed and deadlines are met. This includes follow up and follow through of tasks until successful completion within acceptable times frames.
    • Leadership skills and the ability to work independently with minimum direction and follow up from Line Managers. This includes acceptable communication with your Stores and Line Managers.
    • Responsibility for compliance to Operational, Legal and Statutory requirements.
    • Driving Cost Saving initiatives and awareness.

    Requirements:

    • Matric (Grade 12) certificate.
    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Must be able to travel across KZN.
    • Valid driver’s licence
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and isiZulu.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Computer literate, with at least basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
