Assistant Disaster Risk Management Officer at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Matric.
• Two (2) years’ relevant experience as an official or volunteer in disaster management with disaster management training.
• Computer Literacy – MS Office Applications.
• A valid Code EB driver’s license.
• No criminal record.

Key Performance Areas

• Performing a broad range of operational and administrative tasks related to the Disaster Risk Management function.
• Providing support to disaster management officers and the immediate Supervisor.
• Performing operational duties and coordinating and integrating specific functional areas.
• Managing training and skills development and the transfer of skills and knowledge.

Special Conditions

• Ability to traverse rough terrain on foot, work in standing positions for long periods. Normal sight and hearing.
• 24/7 Standby/availability on a rostered basis.
• Ability to work long hours in all areas under all weather conditions at any time of day or night.
• May be required to rotate between different DRMC areas/portfolios as and when required.
