All academics are responsible for disseminating knowledge (teaching and learning), creating knowledge (research) and community engagement, and recognising differences in executing these responsibilities within the various departments and Faculties.
Academics are also expected to assume administrative, management, and/or leadership duties at the departmental, faculty, and/or university levels.
In addition, an Associate Professor is to provide academic leadership in the following areas: teaching and learning; research and community engagement, and contribute towards the institution's governance.
The Requirements
PhD in Information Systems or equivalent
Professional experience in Information Systems or equivalent will be an advantage
Considerable teaching experience at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels is required
Experience in teaching Information Systems, with the ability to teach in the following areas: IT Governance, Artificial Intelligence, Digital Ethics, and Digital Transformation, Systems Analysis and Design, and Project Management
Research Supervision of Master’s and PhD degrees
An established research group/area
Established national profile and emerging national profile in the discipline
Track record of administration, management and/or leadership roles
