A family is looking for an AU PAIR for their son aged 13 years old - neurodivergent with high support needs
Area: Newlands
Ages: son aged 12 years old (Grade 6) - neurodivergent with high support needs
Working hours: Three days per week (days to be confirmed): 14h00 - 17h00 through the year
Additional hours: Sleep overs probably 4 times a year at most and evening babysitting once a month to be paid for additionally. Opportunity to house / dog sit when we are away at R 340 per night.
Duties: Required to transport to and from extra murals, external activities, appointments, general care and supervision and assisting with anything childcare related within working hours
Requirements: Candidate needs to be be flexible in working out what works for both of us when we know what his schedule looks like. Awareness of and compassion with neurodivergence, must be open to training, occasional night time / sleepover required. Fun loving, interactive, helpful if they can play tennis with him (entry level), resilience to weathering some emotions and commitment to the position.
Start date: February 2026 start – permanent contract
Salary:R7000 per month (gross, before deductions)
All Au Pair Extraordinaire applicants must fill the following requirements:
Must have at least 12 consecutive months of formal child caring experience, excluding work done for friends and family. This experience must be within the last 2 years.
Must have their own, reliable car and at least 18 months driving experience.
Must have at least 2 contactable childcare references.
