Building Manager at Rand Water

Job Advert Summary    

To manage all Rand Water building related services such as electrical, mechanical, civil as well as space planning and allocation, assets management and facilities related projects to ensure the cost effectiveness. This requires a dynamic, technically diverse knowledgeable and organised candidate.

Minimum Requirements    

• National Diploma Engineering (Electrical/Building/Mechanical Engineering) Quantity Survey or equivalents
• Desired Education: 3-year qualification plus a Certificate in Project Management and/or Facilities Management
• Minimum Experience: Minimum 5 years in the Electrical, Mechanical, Building or build environmental practice with 3 years in a management position.
• Code B driver’s license.

Primary Duties    

• Extensive knowledge and experience of electrical reticulation of a large modern building
• Extensive knowledge and operational experience of electromechanical services (HVAC, lifts)
• Thorough working knowledge of a large central air conditioning plants.
• Managing the Electronic air conditioning system controls and or Building Management system.
• Thorough working knowledge of electronic maintenance system (MAXIMO) and Security Passive System.
• Ability to comply and control suitable working budgets for building maintenance and associated matters.
• Good business acumen and thorough knowledge of contractors and good prices.
• Good design knowledge of furniture, layouts, and space design.
• Thorough knowledge of building cleaning services especially carpet and floor care.
• Knowledge of rendering a canteen facility to a large building and satellite facilities.
• Knowledge to administrate a cost effective and efficient Conferencing function.
• Thorough knowledge of the OHS Act to ensure a safe working environment.
• Understanding and good interpersonal skills, good negotiator
• Good Project Management skills.
• Good IT networking and programming skills, SCADA and PLC skills
• Knowledge of ISO systems and procedures.
• Support, promote and drive towards all aspects of green building implementation.
