    Compensation Lead

    Compensation Lead

    Our dynamic and growing company is looking for a Compensation Lead to join our team. If you have a passion in dealing with employee compensation and benefits and have excellent numerical and analytical skills, this is a great opportunity for you! The purpose of this role is to be responsible for researching, establishing, and maintaining a company's pay system by researching and understanding the current and upcoming competitive markets for employee pay and benefits. This includes the processing of payroll end to end as well as reporting.

    Duties

    • Develop and evolve the company’s pay scale and structure by determining competitive wage rates and change as necessary
    • Ensure that the company's pay scale complies with changing legislations and regulations
    • Oversee the distribution of pay to employees
    • Work with managers to help develop promotion and retention strategies for existing employees by designing fair and attractive bonus programs that align with the company’s strategic plan
    • Develop a department budget and keep operations within that budget
    • Assist in drafting job descriptions, job analyses, job evaluation and classifications
    • Set and track compensation and benefits benchmarking data
    • Administer and manage the company’s employee benefits program, which may include retirement plans, leave policies, wellness programs, and insurance policies such as health, life, and disability
    • Oversee the completion of compensation and benefit documentation
    • Communicating with third-party services to negotiate benefits plans and resolve benefit-related issues
    • Prepare and manage payroll processes of employees from start to finish.
    • Gather, manage, and update all payroll related data.
    • Process payroll using the PaySpace system
    • Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
    • Assisting with overtime submissions and approvals
    • Update salary sheets and schedules
    • Investigate, answer and clarify employees on all payroll related inquiries
    • Facilitate the submission of statutory contributions and reports 
    • Assist administrative or finance staff in processing payrolls of new hires or terminated ones
    • Preparation and submission of month-end reports, reconciliations, and payments
    • Maintaining all payroll operations by following policies and procedure
    • Must be up to date with all latest payroll and tax legislation
    • Reconciling of Provident Fund

    Qualifications, Skills & Experience

    • Bcom Accounting/HR Degree or Related Degree/Qualification or equivalent
    • Previous payroll, compensation & benefits or HR experience required
    • Minimum 4+ years relevant experience in a fast-paced and performance-driven environment 
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, MS Windows and MS Excel
    • Experience in the Logistics, Financial Services, Financial Technology or Consumer Financial Services is preferred
    • Demonstrated effectiveness in all the areas outlined in the roles and responsibilities
    • Payroll processing experience required very specifically using the Payspace system
    • Knowledge of building compensation packages and bonus programs for various departments and seniority levels
    • Excellent understanding of job evaluation and job analysis systems
    • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
