    Creditors Manager

    Job Description

    There are 3 types of chickens, Those who can count and those who can't... Best we look into the market for our next Creditors Manager.

    An exciting opportunity exists to join Nandos South Africa's Finance Department. We won't hire you to count chickens but knowledge of numbers should be an advantage.

    The purpose of the Creditors Manager is not only limited to transactional requirements, it is expected of the role to provide the appropriate control measures, strategic insights, and reporting across Casas (Restaurants), supporting the operations team of Nandos South Africa.

    Minimum Requirements

    • 5 - 10 years’ experience in relevant finance industry, (Advantageous: 3 – 5 years’ in FMCG)
    • 2 – 3 years’ of leading and managing a team
    • AP Systems knowledge - advantageous
    • Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Financial software – SAGE X3 experience advantageous
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
    • Previous exposure to and working with RPA (Robotic Process Automation) would be advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Accounts payable and general administration management
    • Onboarding Suppliers – Collaborating with Supply Chain to further develop the onboarding process with the necessary due diligence
    • Identify gaps and develop new processes and procedures to improve the overall recon process, combined with initiatives to automate and drive increased efficiency
    • Manage all queries from Casas, Suppliers, cashbook/creditors and relevant departments to ensure timeous resolution
    • Verify and approve EFTs in order to ensure timeous submission andpayment
    • Review payment reconciliations for validity per Supplier payment terms
    • Oversee the submission of a list of accruals for outstanding Supplier invoices to Finance Business Partners periodically
    • Manage timely payments of Suppliers, including verifying and authorising all reconciliations and handovers to the Financial Controller for a second authorisation before payment
    • Identify when Supplier trading terms have changed and amend these per the agreed processes
    • Monitor frequencies of transactions and the values to align more favourable payment terms
    • Alignment of Suppliers in the SAGE database and banking database
    • Compile the bi-weekly creditors age analysis report and drive for resolution on all outstanding and reconciling items
    • Manage and record daily cash flow activities
    • Provide the CFO with daily figures regarding Supplier payment amounts
    • Review financial queries, entries and questionable data
    • Participate in annual internal or external audits
    • Contribute/give input to the operational processes and procedures in terms of Suppliers when required
    • Receive and then escalate system-related faults pertaining to the creditors function
    • Provide accounting assistance to Accountants Payable and Receivable and operational staff and respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs on an ad-hoc basis
    • Work closely with Financial Controller on Working Capital improvements
    • Work closely with the Systems project manager to identify automated processes to increase efficiency, strengthen controls and management of suppliers and payables
    • Manage Supplier accounts in line with business objectives to streamline number and quality of approved Suppliers and periodically analyse areas for improvement where inefficiencies and/or duplications in the Supplier base exist
    • Ensuring International Supplier reconciliations and payments done in accordance with relevant processes and procedures
    • Establish a process for contract management within the ERP system, and SOP's / workflows to ensure payments in line with contractual obligations

    People management

    • Manage the creditor clerk team in achieving their key job accountabilities and performance objectives
    • Actively manage the performance and potential of the team, providing on the job training, upskilling, coaching, mentorship and leadership to support problem solving, assess productivity and recommend changes where required
    • Work with the People Team in dealing with grievances and disciplinary issues and ensures their effective resolution
    • Create an engaged and motivated workforce by establishing an environment that fosters collaboration through effective communication, trust, enjoyment, wellbeing, learning and development
    • Partner with the creditor clerk team to set personal development goals and provides feedback on a regular basis to build their capabilities
