Data Analyst (Financial Systems & Data Warehousing) 6-Month Contract at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

• We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join a leading financial services organisation on a 6-month contract. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys working with large datasets, translating complex business requirements into technical solutions, and driving data-led digital transformation initiatives.
• You will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, BI teams, and project managers to design, implement, and optimise data-driven solutions that improve financial and operational reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the analysis and solution design phases of digital transformation initiatives.
• Engage with business stakeholders to understand current business processes, reporting environments, and system architecture.
• Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement through technology and automation.
• Gather, document, and validate business and system requirements through workshops and stakeholder engagements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development teams.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Developers, Data Modelers, and BI teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Design financial and operational reporting models that provide meaningful business insights.
• Analyse complex data flows and understand how transactions impact financial and operational reporting.
• Perform data profiling, data quality assessments, and data scoping activities.
• Identify system gaps, risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Support the rollout of new technical solutions and business process changes.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and visualisations to support business decision-making.
• Recommend enhancements to systems, reporting, and business processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and business users.
• Drive automation and optimisation of manual reporting and operational processes.
• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and quality of all data delivered within solutions.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5–8 years' experience as a Data Analyst within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience working with financial systems and financial system integrations.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Experience analysing large and complex datasets.
• Ability to understand end-to-end business processes and translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Experience facilitating workshops and gathering business requirements.
• Strong knowledge of data profiling, data quality management, and data analysis techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simplify and communicate complex technical concepts to both business and technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
