Aon South Africa has a very exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst & Report Developer, in our Data Analytics department based (currently remotely) at our offices in Sandton.
The role of a Data Analyst & Report Developer is being responsible for designing, developing and maintaining Cognos TM1 application and dynamic dependant workbooks and excel based dashboards. The successful incumbent will also be responsible for Data Analysis in SQL and for designing and maintaining reports in Excel and analysing new requirements for MIS projects and designing the solution.

About the Role 
As a Data Analyst & Report Developer some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining and improving on existing Cognos TM1 Models.
• Maintaining and automating TM1 Web and Excel Based Cognos TM1 reports.
• Maintaining and automating existing Excel models.
• Developing SQL queries for general Data Analytics purposes or to be used as source data for applications (Like SSRS and TM1).
• Developing, Designing and Enhancing TM1 applications to facilitate new reporting requirements.
• Assisting with reporting outputs as necessary.
• Performing business analyst functions as and when required.
• Creating data load templates in Excel for sending to clients
• Creating Excel Allocation models
• Working with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements, creating prototypes and delivering a finalised product using SSRS, Excel or Tm1 depending on the requirements
• Updating operational reports on a re-occurring basis.
• Performing data validation, error checking, and troubleshooting.
• Performing other duties appropriate to the assignment

Role-specific Technical Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Qualifications

• Be in possession of Grade 12 (matric)
• Be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree in an analytical related field, such as Information Technology

Knowledge

• Very advanced Excel
• Structure Query Language (SQL) based data analysis and Query design.
• Knowledge of Tm1 – IBM Cognos TM1 Design and Development
• Data analysis and validation
• Researching data issues and/or problems

Skills and Attributes

• Have strong analytical, consultative and communication skills.
• Establishing and maintaining interpersonal relationships
• The ability to work in and with teams.

Experience

• Have a minimum of 1 year experience in a Tm1 development role.
• Be able to make good judgment and work with both technical and business colleagues.
• Be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
