DevOps Support Engineer at DeARX Services (Pty) Ltd

Role requirements:

• 3+ years experience in Java, SQL & Databases
• Proven experience in application support and DevOps methodologies.
• Proficiency in Cloud AWS and familiarity with SWIFT CBPR+ protocol.

Role responsibilities

DevOps & Support:

• Apply critical thinking, design thinking, and problem-solving skills to resolve technical problems with existing applications.
• Implement configuration, optimization (e.g., upgrades), and maintenance activities for enterprise-wide applications.
• Provide efficient and effective support for applications, ensuring they meet business needs and comply with security standards.
• Schedule and oversee maintenance tasks like backups, performance tuning, and disaster recovery for production IT services.
• Maintain current and accurate application documentation and provide it to application users.
• Ensure that application performance meets SLAs and OLAs, coordinating with infrastructure and architecture teams to minimize system/platform migration impacts.
• Work with Information Security teams to define and implement access permissions for applications.
• Application Monitoring & Performance Management:
• Monitor application modification requests to ensure best practices are followed.
• Conduct diagnostic investigations of program errors and implement solutions for resolution.
• Maintain metrics of operational performance and analyze trends to enhance effectiveness and identify inefficiencies.
