JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:

• Develop niche areas.
• Develop the strategic and operational plans of the centre within the vision of the VUT and
• facilitate its implementation.
• Provide academic leadership in research programmes
• Liaise with industry, professional bodies, and education institutions nationally and internationally
• Develop and promote postgraduate study and supervise post-graduate students
• Manage administrative tasks including students’ registration and enrolment
• Strengthen and engage new community initiatives in the centre
• Compile and manage the budget
• Staff and team development
• Provide leadership in the development of new curricular and programs
• Develop partnerships Internationally and Nationally

APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualification and Experience:

• An appropriate Doctor’s degree in Food security and food nutrition with at least six (6) years tertiary
• teaching or related experience and appropriate Associate Professor.
• Minimum of five (5) years academic or related management experience in Higher Education.
• A sound research record proven by accredited publications and international conference presentation
• will be a requirement.
• Membership of editorial boards and peer reviewing experience is recommended.
• Membership of professional bodies and associations
• Experience in post-graduate supervision is required as well as a high level of disciplinary expertise.
