Engineer Projects: Mechanical (Fixed Term) at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the monitoring of the implementation of agreed technical specifications by all disciplines during projects to ensure compliance, quality and maintainability of new plant and equipment. This function will be applicable from the total project scope from inception to handover through adherence to the following key pillars:

Compilation of UP standard specification

• Multidisciplinary Project Interphase Representation
• Plant and equipment Commissioning
• Maintenance planning
• Single discipline project management
• Maintenance optimisation and support
• Project handovers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s or B Tech Degree in relevant engineering discipline
• Registration with ECSA at any level
• Valid Driver’s license

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the following services: 

•   Project management experience in a property related environment; Development of concept designs and estimate costs for relevant engineering systems; Preparation of reports and documents related to project activities; Writing technical specifications;  Reading and reviewing drawings and plans;  Computer aided design;  Site inspections and evaluation of contractors’ work; Ensuring that project construction conforms to design specifications and applicable codes; Setting up and maintaining project files and records, and Responsible for project handovers and compliance with OHS Act and SANS codes.

Relevant maintenance and operational experience in the following:

• Gas Systems
•  Mechanical Systems
•  Fire Protection Systems
•  HVAC system
•  Compressors, Pressure vessels
•  Lifts and lifting equipment
