Enterprise Systems Engineer (P12) at Sol Plaatje University

Minimum Requirements    

• Relevant NQF level 6 Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field
• Industry Related Certification
• Driver’s license
• Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
• 4 to 6 years related experience
• Computer skills (MS Office suite)
• Project Management Experience as well as associated technologies
• Experience with ERP systems

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
• Establish a work plan and resources for each phase of the project.
• Confer with project staff to outline work plans, to assign duties, to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• Coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
• Ensure documentation and sustainability.
• Scope management: proactively manage project scope to minimise “scope creep”; facilitating appropriate decision-making to ensure project success.
• Risk management: proactively manage project risks, monitor, and control action plans to minimise risk.
• Maintain and develop knowledge of business processes.
• Support super users in the design and documentation of new and existing business processes.
• Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Utilise and communicate best business practices.
• Encourage more effective use of existing IT facilities.
• Research and identify opportunities for the extended use of IT to support business systems.
• Work with super users and developers to identify alternative solutions and prepare recommendation for the preferred 
• solution.
